FMA wank... wow.
The amount of FMA wank is truly astounding. On the one hand I'm terribly amused, on the other I find the issues that were raised very disturbing.
Though all of it make me go, "see. This proves my point about stupidity, and why history lessons are needed in order to avoid said stupidity."
The whole thing is very bizarre. I know yaoi is not everyone's cup of tea, and I think everyone have the right to choose what to read/watch/listen/whatever, but I'm really quite confused about why people goes off to make ANTI website/lists/mlists/ljcomms of people/series/yaoi/het/whatever. I mean, why waste the time and effort to make the hate sites, when you can sit back and read porn of characters you like?
The world is filled by many a strange people with way too much free time.

Hmm, actually that's something else that one day I'll semi-wank at.

I think they just don't even like seeing the warning headers, and lacked the foresight to recognize that people would be offended by their sudden appropriation of mod role.

I think what finally got me slightly annoyed wasn't even the anti-yaoi feeling that was so apparent (used to it) but it was the implication that yaoi lovers only love FMA for the yaoi, which is one of my MAJOR peeves.
But not going into that, 'cos I'll get slightly annoyed, and I have promised myself that I'm not going to get involved. Though it does make for an interesting read.
And that's the bottom line, if people can't EVEN stand the mere thought or even mention of yaoi, or slash... well, that's a problem, and really I suppose opening a ljcomm strictly for onself is fine. Though, it's rather offensive to say that the present FMA comm is only a yaoi comm (I don't care if not one actually came out and said it, but it's pretty obvious, and of course the small fandom segeration is just going to get larger, and larger, and flame wars are waiting around the corner.
Mind you, nothing can get bigger, or wank-ier than the HP fandom.
And with that I shall go off to my lecture.
