On the other hand, young John seems a lot kinder and more compassionate than his older self. That's always seemed a big plot point to me. I thought the best moment in D&D was when Derek was screaming at him to tell him where Kyle was and John was holding his head looking absolutely horrified. Holy shit, I sent my dad off to die!
