ETA: I need to watch Iron Man again because Pepper Potts is awesome, and it is nice to see a female character that doesn't get killed to further the plot or to create angst for the protagonist.
and i feel this way a lot. like movie makers and tv show producers are breathlessly hovering, waiting for the audience reaction to yet another death of yet another female character meant to propel yet another protagonist into action or character development. like they're waiting for the audience to be shocked so they can be smug and say, "bet you didn't think we'd go there, did you? bet you didn't think we'd make such a brave choice with our story, did you?"
well, you know what? i did. of course i did.
Thank you.
