Even without having yet watched Cloverfield bootleg *cough*, I think the Blair Witch Project is actually worth a go. In wibbles in some way towards the end, but the rest of the movie is hair-on-end creepy - I think I'd prefer it to Cloverfield because it manages to be scary without needing gore or explosions.
