The interesting thing about Cloverfield is that it isn't creepy, it was the sheer terror of a person's ordinary world being taken apart bit by bit. The special effect only added to the realism of it, that yes, tomorrow your world can end. There is a surprisingly lack of gore in the film.

I'll eventually give Blair Witch a go.
