In a completely psychic kind of way. I swear Yukikaze (the plane) has the biggest crush on our main hero, Rei. Hmm, I suppose it is more of a FLIRTY type of thing. The thing is sentinent and there are scenes where I'm like, 'OMFG! If you were a character you would TOUCHING Rei!'. But that's almost a side point to the utter mind numbing boredom I had to sit through while watching some of the episodes for this series.
Mind you, the more anime I watch the less patience I have for series that is pretty or atmospheric for the sake of being pretty of atmopheric. It tries to convey some form of message but it is so vague and arty that it is senseless in whatever it was trying to preach.
Ergo Proxy did a much better job at conveying its message despite the total mind-fuck and at times completely confused visual deliverance of scenes.
ETA: That is to say if there had been some form of physical molestation of Rei as opposed to the metaphorical molestation the whole series would have been a bit more interesting.
