As far I’m concerned the rings and boxes are elementally aligned MAGICAL boxes that does MAGICAL things. This is very strange for me as I’m one of those really annoying nit-picker shounen-readers who expect internal consistency when it comes to the powers. I think this says a great deal about what I think of this series as a whole.
