Curse of the Golden Flower is so pretty. And it is set during the TANG dynasty! *Geeky noises*. Slightly stunned that I didn't realise it was Chow Yun Fat till about half way into the making of the film documentary - he looks different ok! I'm pretty sure the film is going to be completely inaccurate, but I don't care because I have this major soft spot for the Tang Dynasty. The only female Emperor (no, NOT Empress, EMPEROR - she had ruling rights) in Chinese history appeared during the Tang dynasty - Wu Ze Tian (武则天) - yes she did get her own dynasty but it only lasted a decade or so. I remember watching the Chinese dramas and movies about her when I was a child, and how I wanted to be her because she was just so awesome. The point is - the Tang Dynasty, and Chow Yun Fat as Emperor and Gong Li as Empress - this is made of awesome.
