witty, somehow ([personal profile] naanima) wrote2004-01-19 07:11 pm

university, bleach. samurai deeper kyo, and hikaru no go.

Three mugs of STRONG black coffee (no sugar, no milk, consumed in the time span of an hour). Have been awake for 30 hours... and counting.

Have some good news and some bad news. Good news: I have been accepted by a University to do my commerce degree (second one). Bad news: I will be going to Curtin. No more cats time *sigh*

Have Bleach volume 10!!!!!, read Bleach volume 10!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! The series owns my soul. NEED MORE!!! Want to see this animated, but if Gonzo pick up the right I'm gonna throw a fit. Need to see the fights, the colours, need to see the major arse kicking. Need MORE Shinigami captain screen time, yes they do.

Otherwise, finally finished watching Samurai Deeper Kyo. I'm terribly in rabu with Sanada Yukimura, yes I am. Have obsessive urge to rent all of the manga (currently 20 volumes+) from WingLong. I like manga with samurai and ninja themes, yes I do. I like it that much more when historical characters appear in the series where their personalities, their dreams, their emotions and their determination is bigger than life. Yukimura's character is that and so much more complex, I rabu! Does ANYONE have the SDK manga scanlations?!! Anyone?!!! [livejournal.com profile] perseid? [livejournal.com profile] eirivan? [livejournal.com profile] nekomancy? [livejournal.com profile] anarch_kitty?!! Anyone!?

Re-read all of Hikaru no Go. I'm reminded why I fell so madly in love with the series that I bought the whole set, and why I cried when Sai finally left. WAHHHH Sai... WAHHHHH Hikaru. Also, after re-reading the series (up till 6am in the morning) Hikaru and Akira is the OTP!!I have an urge to watch all of the anime... [livejournal.com profile] chibi_rat, can I borrow your HnG anime?

Need sleep. Hormones out of wack, feeling shit, walked into walls, almost twisted my ankle and the headche that won't end has decided to take camp in my brain. Also slightly depressed about this year. Fuck. I think I'll go and drool over Bleach

Yes, he's cool, he's just beyond words. And his psyche is so damn fascinating and complex. I love the man.

Gold Faction? (confused)

Oh yes, Benitora is interesting. There's just something about the prodigal sons' that make me wanna huggle them to death.

Sidereals; Bronze Faction Sidereals want to just stamp out these resurgent Solars and keep things as they are, while Gold Faction Sidereals want to "educate" the Solars and manipulate them suitably. As in "it'll all work fine if they just do what we tell them..."

I even rather like Yuya. She's sincere and not too helpless. Poor "breadboard".

Ah... still rather confused, is this in reference to anything particular? (feeling rather dumb).

Yuya took awhile for me to warm up to, but yes I have to give credit to her for being not so helpless that I want to smack her.

Apologies -- reference is to the rpg Exalted from White Wolf. Colour me braindead.

Ah! Now I understand. I -need- to learn a bit more about White Wolf. More of a AD&D girl myself, although lately we have been using the D20 Star Wars system for an 'Inquisitor' game.

I want to game, I miss my 24th level Bear Monk (it took us two years to get to Epic levels but we got there).

I strongly recommend Exalted as a fantasy setting, though am a touch biased in that, um, I've written for it. ;)

Will check it out.

So, how does it feel to write for an RPG? Do you write more about the rules or do you write pre-packaged campaign?

Generally speaking, I myself write background and adventure and setting and character rather than rules mechanics, because I'm better at it. And the Exalted line editor knows that, too. ;)

It's quite strenuous. I have to keep up to date with the other published background stuff so as not to contradict already-established canon. I also have to be ready to take editing and correction. And put up with fan comment afterwards. "Book X is really one of the weakest of the line..."

But it _is_ very cool to see someone using something in their campaign/game that I wrote.
