SASUKE!

I don't care what all the naysayers say about you, for you have always been my little emo baby. You had the most phenomenal character growth, and I hope to all the manga gods (and Kishimoto) that you will end the series as the Kage of your own Village. You know, the Village of the Powerful and Clinically Insane. If you go back to Knonoha as one of its Shinobi or a prisoner I shall FOREVER deny the existence of Naruto. I rather you die a GLORIOUS death than return to Konoha. Actually, I would only accept Sasuke returning to Konoha if it happens under one scenario – talked about under the cut.

Wikipedia is awesome )

I can't get over how shounen manga is becoming awesome again.

My LOVE for Eyeshield 21 cannot be textually rendered! It is the one series that brings me constant and consistent joy without falling into a deep, black hole of major suckage. Just finished reading chapter 322, and OMFG! Just OMFG!!!! Match Spoilers )

Have caught up to Katekyō Hitman Reborn!, just finished reading chapter 235… um, Character appearance spoilers ) I have also come to the realisation I don’t actually have ANY idea how the rings or the boxes work. Just absolutely none; every time they attempt to explain my eyes GLAZE over and my brain shut down. As far I’m concerned the rings and boxes are elementally aligned MAGICAL boxes that does MAGICAL things. This is very strange for me as I’m one of those really annoying nit-picker shounen-readers who expect internal consistency when it comes to the powers. I think this says a great deal about what I think of this series as a whole.

Read 10 volumes of Ookiku Furikabutte; SPORTS manga, you never fail me. While I quite enjoy the series, I do admit the main character Mihashi have NOT endeared himself to me in any way, shape or form. However, ABE! I LOVE you ABE! I’m unsure whether I’ll follow this series as there just isn’t enough going one with Mihashi to keep me interested. Oh, well.

Watched several Jonas Brothers interviews and performances… um, I think Korean boybands have spoiled me completely. I went into the interviews expecting some MAJOR pretty, major talent, some awesome personality traits and enough FANSERICE to make the world IMPLODE. I was sadly disappointed… while Joe is pretty and quite amusing I find Nick (?) and Kevin (?) rather meh. Actually that is not the complete truth; I find Kevin hilarious but not that physically attractive, and while I think Nick have potential I find him trying too hard to be what he isn’t for me to be that interested. So, it is with much regret that I must let go of a potential fandom full of awesome crackness.

I LOVE this series, I LOVE it so very much, and when it ends, because seriously, I can't see it going beyond the current tournament I will be so very sad.

MPD Psycho; volume 11 + volume 12

My head hurt, I forgot how much of a mind fuck this series can be. Gods, they make you work for the plot. AKA What I think is going on... some information are revealed and a few things finally click. )

I think I have it right. My brain really hurt; this is what happens when I don’t read a series for over 3 years, and for the life of me I can’t remember how volume 10 ended. Hell, I don’t even remember whether I read volume 10. I need this series to have some sort of end that doesn’t make me want to slit my own wrists or brain myself with a desk due to the complete and utter mind fuck it is.

I need an icon of Tetora or Amamiya Kazuhiko, or hell even Shinji Nishizono will do... the one 20 odd years ago, not the scary dude of now.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn + Eyeshied 21

[livejournal.com profile] dreamlessness, thanks for the rec! I have caught up to Katekyo Hitman Reborn and I NEED more! It went from this strange, kind of interesting series that I may or may not follow to OMFG! WHERE IS THE NEXT CHAPTER? I have this deep LOVE for Yamamoto! LIKE COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS LOVE that MAY or MAY NOT be PLATONIC! The way the artwork evolved is just amazing – compare the first chapter to the newest chapter and it is like two mangaka drawing the same series. Sure, this series isn’t going to be on my top 5, but it is just fun to read! And YAMAMOTO, Gokudera and OMFG! Mokura is like your average psycho times a billion!

Spoilers Katekyo Hitman Reborn )

I have also caught up to Eyeshield 21. Oh gods, just oh gods, this is why I LOVE shounen manga so very MUCH! I would have a much more coherent write up except all I can say is YOUNG HIRUMA! And OMFG! GO DEVIL BATS, GO! I get terribly involved in the matches that I ended up mainlining approximately 150 chapters of the series, and everything is really jumbled up in my head at the moment.

Spoilers for E21 )

GUYS, I have MISSED shounen MANGA so very much! Please PROVIDE recs to your favourite shounen manga series. I love sports and tournament series. What I require more than anything is ENERGY and PASSIONATE characters; hence the love of shounen sports series. [livejournal.com profile] perseid, what was the name of that baseball series you were talking to me about? I require names!

Air Gear to chapter 197!

naanima: ([Air Gear] Fly High)
So, I have read approximately 250 chapters of Air Gear during a time span of 3 days (this is amongst doing work, soclialising, and watching a copious amount of Super Junior M clips. Sleep is for the weak). And OMFG! I LOVES Air Gear, it is so COMPLETELY insane and over the top, and just so pretty, AND I went through several Aizen-ala-Bleach-like trauma during my mainlining of the series.

There are many points during the series that my brain went "Oh!Greato-sama, you are showing your issues again." Yes, at times I get flashes of Tenjou Tenge, but I enjoy Air Gear much more. Don't get me wrong AG has its share of psychopaths with sadomasochistic tendencies, but its main characters off set the sociopathic tendencies by being really awesome. It is hard to explain but there is this level of energy and almost innocence that TT just didn't have.

where the spoilers comes into it )

I'm SO HORRIBLY addicted to this series it is kind of insane.

ETA: So, does anyone have a copy of the following anime series?
- Air Gear
- Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann

The former because I'm curious, the latter because despite the fact I have only seen 2 episodes of this series I am very curious.

Nearly a full bottle of red wine, youtube and chocolate – I’m almost feeling human.

Also, Orlando Bloom is starting to look appealing. I blame the alcohol. I cannot believe he's 30, I mean 30. Gods, I wish I'll look that good when I'm 30. Oh, who am I kidding, I never looked that good to begin with.

In addition, Slam Dunk - [livejournal.com profile] amei, years ago you tried explaining Inoue Takehiko's style to me; the way that he drew movement, how he manages to convey fluidity on paper. At the time I was not impressed, I am VERY VERY VERY impressed now. OMFG! Yes, have read all of Slam Dunk, it is an awesome series. However, as I managed to mainline all of 30+ volumes of it within 2 days awhile back everything is a bit blurred.

Now I go to drink some wine and do some more work.

ETA: Orlando Bloom: It's like a lightsaber, but on fire, you know?

Dear [livejournal.com profile] baka_neko (or whoever reads the manga),

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE Busou Renkin MANGA! (It is finished, right?) It is just that the last volume I read had Kazuki and Tokiko spoilers )

Also, I miss Papillon.

Air Gear Manga

naanima: ([AG] This is love)
Air Gear is eating my brain, I need more of this manga. It is really not that much of a surprise for me to like the series, I mean, it is written by OhGreat (he of the great HENTAI!). However, unlike Tenjo Tenge I like all of the characters including the lead. So far, the series is not as hentai as TT, but I'm only at chapter 54, I'll give it time. I am, however, really surprised at the amount of ghei in this series (both the implied and the overt).

Spoilers )

I want more of this series.

General fan-stuff

naanima: (hope over tatooine)
For the past few days I have been looking really hot. I call it the Art of wearing Complementary Clothing AKA Black is good for you! In addition, the boots adds a couple of inches to me, which doesn’t hurt (though the actual pain it causes is kind of distracting and a bit of a minus to the way I look).

Things of interest: watched the first season of Grey’s Anatomy. I really like this show; intelligent, sexy and hilarious. Furthermore, one of the few shows on television that can actually be considered to be ‘multicultural’, these days it still surprises me to see more than 3 people of colour (playing major roles) on any main stream television series. Which leads to my next question; why the hells haven’t the f-list picked up on the series yet? The series is a thing of fluffy marshmallow and alcohol, i.e., all the good stuff in life.

Have also made [livejournal.com profile] nekomancy watch King Arthur for the slash subtext, ‘cos you know, I’m kind of shallow that way. Besides, it is really hard to ignore the slash subtext, and the cat does agree with me (after a certain point in the film) on some of the, um, obvious signs.

Otherwise, read Eyeshield 21 up to volume 19, and all I can say is; OMFG! AGHHHHH!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?! ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!! MORE! NEED MORE! WHY ISN’T THERE MORE!? OMFG! ARRRGHHHH! MORE! MORE! MORE! MORE! HIRUMA!!!! *FANGIRL SQUEE*.

Sex Pistols

naanima: (it's a flying pig!)
Couldn't fall asleep yesterday (did fall unconscious at 3 in morning only to wake up 3 hours later at 6AM), so instead of counting sheep (or studying) I re-read Sex Pistols (chapter 1 -18). I am forever glad that the arc wrapped up where it did or there would have been much screaming. I admit the first time I read Sex Pistols it was between much beer, some form of angst and assignments so I was not as appreciative as I should have been. However, now I am all starry eyed over the series! OMFG! It is soooooooooooooooo GOOD!

spoilers, blah, and cut for those of my f-list who does not have a thing for mpreg *koffs* )

My feelings for Sex Pistols can be equalled to the love I feel toward mugs of black coffee and fatty food.

Feel as if I'm gnawing on my own liver.

There was Uni work today, but otherwise re-read bits of Eyeshield 21 (match against the NASA Aliens.) Will blog about it when I can actually form some sort of coherent thought beyond ‘Hiruma is COOL!’ or 'Sena as Eyeshield is AWESOME!' and you know, the feeling of gnawing on my own liver.

There need to be more JoJo fanfiction. Someone need to write post part 3 fanfiction about Jotaro going back to Japan and informing ”spoilers” ), and about Jotaro’s choice of doing his thesis on STAR FISH! This still make me snicker, oh gods, Araki-sensei, why STAR FISH?! (I suspect it is something retarded like; it had to be a star fish because of its SHAPE!) BTW: when I say there need to be more fanfiction, what I really mean is that [livejournal.com profile] petronia should be slaving away in front of her computer fulfilling my JoJo needs XP.

Joseph in part 4 makes me highly uncomfortable (more like a bunch of highly mixed signals in my brain that refuses to get unmixed). It is entirely a personal thing.

My brain has dead a stunningly painful death, which is bad because if I fail one more mid-semester I am going to write this whole damn semester off. On the other hand I am still finding time colouring big-assed manga images of JoJo part 2. I have mad love for Caesar and Joseph, and it just seems to be getting worse as time goes by. Sometime in the next week I shall be uploading much coloured JoJo images for people to use because the JoJo love need to be spread (like an highly infectious disease or is that virus… what is the difference anyway?).

JoJo Part 3

naanima: (I kill people 'cos they were mean to me)
More JOJO (part 3 babble, I'm still too distraught to talk about part 2 without wanting to cry) because it is LOVE, and the cold medication is making it impossible not to write anything. )

The ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA! And the MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA!MUDA! is hilarious.

Conclusion: Part 2 is still my favorite part but I do love part 3.

Half way through part 2 of JoJo. OMFG!!!!!!!! WTF?!!!!!!!

Jack the Ripper?! Muscles, so much muscles, and Aztec Vampires!!! I wish I had some of those ornaments. End of part 1 made me all sad and mopey. Need free time to read more, need to read more. Brain so dead at the moment, I had forgotten how hard it was to survive on 3 hours of sleep when you need to deliver speeches, count money and basically be all mature and not fun. But omfg! JoJo is so cool, oh so cool. Need more.

ETA: CAESAR! Why didn't anyone WARN me?! *cries*
ETA 2: Somewhere between volume 5 and volume 6 my brain did a complete 180. It came to the realisation that the art work for JOJO is the epitome of perfection and it is perfectly all right to measure all other manga art work against for future reference. I think it was also at that point that my brain fell into a field of acceptance. That is, I'll believe anything the series tell me, ANYTHING.
ETA 3: Araki is ruthless with his characters... *CRIES*

Bleach 218-222.

naanima: (you win)
Bleach 218-222.

Speechless. Ok, I lie.

I always forget just how much I adore Ichigo. KT is still a joy to read, it is the way he tend to finish fights (speed) and moves on to the next big revelation without a breather. It makes reading Bleach such an organic experience (you have no idea how long it took me to find the right word for KT's story telling format). I have stopped predicting what will happen next as new characters are introduced and old plot lines are in the process of being resolved.

spoilers or AKA 11th Division Obviously Rules *sniggers* )

Also, chapter 220! A nod to ZOMBIE POWDER!!!! ♥!! ♥!! ♥!! ♥!! ♥!! ♥!! ♥!! ♥!!

And; KT-sama, I’d love for you to write an essay about the inner workings of Ichigo’s mind *INSANE LAUGHTER*.
