Worst Pairing Names, ever - POLL

[livejournal.com profile] velithya and I discovered the first use of pepperony, and it was decided that we require a poll to find out the worst pairing name, ever.

[Poll #1193790]

The reason Wincest is not on the list; because it reminds me of incest, which is rather apt if you think about it.

ahaha still, better Snarry than Snotter XD

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
WTF? Seriously, what is Snotter?

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
You forgot Snack. :D

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
What? People must be messing with me. What is Snack.

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Snape/Black.

I know because I have a friend who was into the pairing, who found it similarly cringeworthy. There was even a comm called 12 o'clock nosh (nosh is slang for a snack).

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Could it be snape/potter?

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh gods. It isn't even so much the pairing as the name. I mean, snotter?

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
Nosh?

Oh gods, when will it stop? Why can't people just type their pairings full name? WHY?

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
I don't knowwww. I think they think it's cute. -_-

Also I'm totally with you on the numbering thing. It's just too damn confusing when you have multiple fandoms that do that.

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
It isn't cute, it just make the pairing seem really juvenile. *sighs*

Like GW, and not Hitman Reborn and some of the lesser popular anime/manga series. It takes a very long time to figure out what those numbers mean. You would think there would be a common glossary of terms about them.

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
With GW, at least it was less confusing because their names really were numbers, but with a lot of the other ones, it's just based on the coincidence of the characters having names that could be shortened into numbers.

Ah well... at least they haven't gone into the silliness that was the TeniPuri pairing naming system? There you REALLY needed a glossary.

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
GW - very true, it wasn't too difficult to make the leap. But omfg! Hitman reborn took me awhile to figure out where teh fans were digging up names from.

TeniPuri was is insane. Tezuryo, Shihiyo, or something else. Oh gods, it has been way too long since I last read a TeniPuri fic. The naming system seem to escape me now.

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I mean how with TeniPuri that they started with the Golden Pair, okay, that was in the manga... But then they started making up aaaaaaalllll of these other weird pairing names, to the point where they had dozens of 'em, it seems.

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, ALL those pairs, from EVERY school. It was insane. I mean omfg! You leave the fandom for a few weeks, you come back and it you have no idea what couple is what.

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
And with the volume of characters....

Also so many of the names seemed to make no earthly sense.

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
And let's not forget the fact that people started repeating the same syllables in their pairings for different people, and really, at that point you just have to back off.
