I know because I have a friend who was into the pairing, who found it similarly cringeworthy. There was even a comm called 12 o'clock nosh (nosh is slang for a snack).

I don't knowwww. I think they think it's cute. -_-

Also I'm totally with you on the numbering thing. It's just too damn confusing when you have multiple fandoms that do that.

With GW, at least it was less confusing because their names really were numbers, but with a lot of the other ones, it's just based on the coincidence of the characters having names that could be shortened into numbers.

Ah well... at least they haven't gone into the silliness that was the TeniPuri pairing naming system? There you REALLY needed a glossary.

Oh, I mean how with TeniPuri that they started with the Golden Pair, okay, that was in the manga... But then they started making up aaaaaaalllll of these other weird pairing names, to the point where they had dozens of 'em, it seems.

And with the volume of characters....

Also so many of the names seemed to make no earthly sense.
