Li (李)

A legend about the Li family is that those who are the directly descended from rebel Emperor Zhuanzu have a genetic trait noticeable in their feet. The last toe on each foot would be pointing inward a little rather than being straight like the rest of the toes. In addition, the nail on this foot has two sections, with one section appearing to override the other. This distinguishes the "true" Li's from the other families with the name as they were born with perfect feet.

- Wikipedia, I love you.

AHAHAHAHA! OMFG! My little toe is exactly like that. Hell, I have to remove the top section off with a knife, clippers and a real tough file.

ETA: Yes, my surname is Li (李).

I DIDN'T realise it was a GENETIC quirk that was so prevalent, I just thought I had a fucked up small toe.

Two nail sections? What does that mean? Like a split naturally forms in the nail?

Man, why do all kinds of weird things happen to little toes genetically?

It is like you have your normal nail, and then there is an extra bit that is on top of that. The nail ends up being about 5mm thick so clipping it is always a bitch.

I have no idea, it is like the sixth finger or something.

That is really strange. Well, at least this is not as bad as the genetic condition where the toe falls off spontaneously.

the toe falls off spontaneously.

OK, I'm officially disturbed. Does it bleed or does it just fall off and leave skin? I mean I have seen rotten/bad flesh falling off only to reveal new and healthy skin beneath it, but a toe falling off... well, you learn something new every day.

Here it is.

Well, at least it doesn't bleed. But ouch, the pain for some of the people who suffer from it must be really bad. I mean flesh, nerves and bones all must separate. That's got to hurt.
