jojo

Half way through part 2 of JoJo. OMFG!!!!!!!! WTF?!!!!!!!

Jack the Ripper?! Muscles, so much muscles, and Aztec Vampires!!! I wish I had some of those ornaments. End of part 1 made me all sad and mopey. Need free time to read more, need to read more. Brain so dead at the moment, I had forgotten how hard it was to survive on 3 hours of sleep when you need to deliver speeches, count money and basically be all mature and not fun. But omfg! JoJo is so cool, oh so cool. Need more.

ETA: CAESAR! Why didn't anyone WARN me?! *cries*
ETA 2: Somewhere between volume 5 and volume 6 my brain did a complete 180. It came to the realisation that the art work for JOJO is the epitome of perfection and it is perfectly all right to measure all other manga art work against for future reference. I think it was also at that point that my brain fell into a field of acceptance. That is, I'll believe anything the series tell me, ANYTHING.
ETA 3: Araki is ruthless with his characters... *CRIES*

But they are short and you don't get the small details that make the characters interesting. And my friend, that is -important-.

I may stop now.

Oh, they took out a lot of the details? Heh, then are you reading part 3 now?

Argh, don't stop reading! Araki turns nice in part 4 and doesn't have traumatic death!

It is shiny, the fights are cool, but little things with characters get lost. If you think about it, it isn't surprising, I mean we are talking about a condensed 13-parts version.

Aaah, then it is much diminished, because the little details in that arc are awesome.

It is the TOILETS! The SUMO conversation! The Abdul BACK from the DEAD and *koffspissingdown* the bamboo stick! It is all those DETAILS!

Just finished part 3, I think I like part 2 better. I just love Joseph, and Caesar made me all weepy. There's also the fact that part is EPIC!

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
YES, the TOILETS. I think Abdul kind of... changed a bit when he returned from the living. XD (It was just damn hilarious, in a sick way, how they tricked Polnareff)

Yeah, it is epic, and Joseph is such an awesome hero.

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
The TOILETS! How IT NEVER stops being sick and funny! *laughs* I swear Abdul came back from the dead and was like 'Well, I died and I have realised there's much I have never done before... LIKE PISS DOWN A BAMBOO WITH SOMEONE USING IT TO BREATHE!' Oh, how I adore Abdul. (OMFG! I felt so sorry for the guy, EVERY single team member was so EVIL. Though I admit Kakyouin was just EVIL!.)

There's just something about part 2 that struck a chord with me. And Joseph is awesome, he's not the most powerful but he is the most cunning... and lazy -_-;;

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has TURNED ME INTO A TEN YR OLD BOY! ;_;) Yeah, poor Polnareff. For all of this tough guy-ism, he is the *innocent one* of the group. XDDD

Yes, with me I think it's Joseph. All of the Jojo's are awesome, but when I was reading it I really thought "damn this Araki guy *knows how to write shounen*)

[identity profile] baka-neko.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hohoho, I knew you'd love Joseph! XD Totally young dork --> old dork --> senile dork! It's so amazing that his genetics produced Jotaro, though Holly is definitely Suzie-Q's daughter.

Joseph is COOL! You're RIGHT! He's such a DORK! I'mmore amazed that Jotaro being Holly's child managed to be, well, Jotaro. Though we can always chalk it up as Jonathan's genes making a come back!
