naanima: (they keep on coming)
witty, somehow ([personal profile] naanima) wrote2006-06-01 08:55 pm

updates because I actually have things to say

1. Had a medical emergency. It is all sorted now.

2. Made a police report; even got my 15-digit witness number. I'm kind of proud.

3. Got my passport; took less than the 3 weeks that all the official documents and websites kept on telling me. My passport photo make me look like an escapee from a maximum security prison, I kid you not. The fact that photos for Australian passports now requires the person being photographed to not show teeth probably contributed greatly to the whole convict look. The nifty micro-chip installed in all new Australian passports is kind of cool though. Also, now I may go to Singapore in July.

4. Wrote a contract that is technically being used on a legal capacity. Yes, I have studied contract law, but studying is different from writing one that is going to be used by major companies. *bites nails*

5. Have managed to fundraise (with aid) approximately $1000.00 this week alone.

6. Organised my fanfic folder ^_^

7. Organised an induction, spoke during it, and finished tying up all lose ends in relation to the Induction.

8. Got a pretty shiny new card (photos, laser stuff, and the same convict passport photo) that will get me discount on student flights and many other things.

9. Finished the first draft of a one hour speech that will hopefully be utilised in future training modules.

10. Managed NOT to commit acts of violence against two of my colleagues (BONUS points!)

I have been a very busy chipmunk... now, if only I can achieve such success on the academic side of things. As I was typing the list I came to the realisation that the above is a summary of most of my weeks this year, I so need a break, and booze, much booze.

I -am- thinking very carefully about November Rain, the thing is I keep on picturing him looking like Zangetsu ala-Ichigo's anthropomorphic sword. He's cool looking and fits the whole November Rain feel but he's completely wrong in relation to Araki's style. Unless Araki made a major revision of his style (again) between part 4 to part 6. In addition, googling for Guns n' Roses albums, and other bands (METALLICA), obsessively for inspiration. As [livejournal.com profile] baka_neko suggested, if I was a fictional stand-user I'll NOT have a drop of Italian blood in my veins. Tragedies make me sad.

I imagine it'd be quite hard to hold a candle if November Rain were to be used on one. (Metallica's already been used, surely?)

Re: passports, when did they start putting in microchips? I'm not sure whether to feel left out or paranoid. :(

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2006-06-01 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
November Rain will be one of the follwoing (possibly sharing traits of all of them):
1. Emo kid
2. Dark mysterious
3. Angst hero wanna-be
4. Complete retard with a guitar
5. Zepo-suit wearing gangsta

(I personally like number 4).

Yes, and the passport looks more shiny too. I don't feel as bad spending that $172 on it now (well, not too much.) Try to strike a balance between a healthy dose of paranoia and sulk a bit, 'cos d00d! I have a PASSPORT with a MICOCHIP!

I'm imagining a mix between 1 & 3 & 4--kind of like Sasuke, if he fronted a metal band in the '80s.

Mine's kind of shiny with rainbows, but I don't know if it has a chip in it. It was made in Washington, DC, which might not be outfitted with all the cool stuff that's used to make passports in Australia. Still paranoid, though. :D

if he fronted a metal band in the '80s

Quote to be immortalised. BTW: I SEE YOUR BECK ICON!

You know, I was all fine about the microchip till I talked to you. Now I'm getting a tad paranoid.

[identity profile] i-smile.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
I think I only have three Beck icons. :/

Ahaha, don't let my extreme cautiousness worry you. Your movements are probably not being tracked by the government through that chip, there probably isn't a sniper outside your window, you're almost definitely safe even if you sit in the chair with your back to the door, and the little old lady who's following you down the sidewalk likely isn't going to mug you.

P.S.

If I had a Stand called November Rain, some of his attacks will be;

1. Minus Human (Metallica song)
2. Enter Sandman (Metallica song)
3. St. Anger (Metallica song)
4. Whole Lotta Rosie (AC/DC song)
5. Lycopodium Mask (because it sound really cool!)

What about Metal Militia? Or Die Dead Enough? Dead Skin Mask? Reign in Blood? :D

I've only read a few chapters of this thing (up to when someone's face got grabbed by a cursed mask), so I'm not up on these guys & what it takes in stupidity/coolness quotient to be an attack. All I know comes from the sorts of things my brother's rambled on about at me. (He's been a huge JoJo fan since before I was a Naruto fan, I think.)

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2006-06-01 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn, you've done a lot. 0_o

Why are you not allowed to show teeth in the passport photo?

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
PREEEEEEEEEENS! ^__^ (As of this morning, got people to come in to replace out 2m x 1m window.)

I have no idea whatsoever. I'm sure they have some reason about the face being distorted, and how if your passport was stolen someone can easily fake the way you look. Though honestly, I have no idea (as if showing some teeth would make a different to people who want to imitate you.)

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
You are just full of industriousness.

That's kind of confusing. I wouldn't think people would look less distinct with their teeth exposed.

[identity profile] i-smile.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
I always figured it was because you wouldn't be smiling, teeth out, if customs pulled you over to strip-search you and check out your story.

[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
... I'm not even sure what to say to that.

You do however, have a very active imagination.

Eee, anytime July, let me know. XD

Re: Stands -- most of them look rather spacey or robotic to me, if they have humanoid form. I think you could sort of sneak a Zangetsu in, if Zangetsu had a more 'alien' look, no robes and TEN THOUSAND PIECES OF BLING, that would be a stand. XD (Your choice of special-shaped bling, mind -- it can't be hearts, stars, zippers, ladybugs et cetera)
