I has post!
Realised I haven't been posting here, not that I have been posting much at lj.
I'm slowly making my way through some of my favourite sci-fi novels. I appear to have a 'type' when it comes to my sci-fi heroes... actually, it is the type that can probably be carried across genera, but so far, from a sci-fi POV, I prefer my protagonists to be more cerebral and less physical. Ender appear to be the exception, but considering how long Ender spends in his own head I suppose he falls in the category of the cerebral thinker.
My 2 all time favourite sci-fi protagonists;
• Bren Cameron; paidhi, translator to the court of Tabini, glorified interpreter who thinks, and thinks, and thinks some more.
• Miles Vorkosigan; midget with a chip on his shoulder the size of several planets, always something to prove, and schemes like there is no tomorrow.
Hmm.
