Still feeling sick. Upset stomach, headaches, and backaches. Fucking backaches. Anyways, watched quite a bit of Asian concerts from the early nighties, and god damn, I bet some of the Asian stars would love utterly destroying all those tapes. Urk, the fashion sense is absolutely dreadful. Truly awlful. And lets not even touch on the hair *shudders*

Anyways, look ma, I finally got myself an icon ^__^ Yes, that is me, and lookie, I ended up with a purple eye (it wasn't even done on purpose). I do sort of look evil, don't I? I'm so proud ^__^ Also, it isn't 'bad' on the bottom line, it's 'had'.

It has only taken me a month or so to get the list done (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] persied) ^^;;; but I've finally got it done and that's the important thing ^__^ Realise that this was done during a period of a month so, some of them will sound rather nice and poetic while other sound like they've been put together with very little thought.

10. Sumeragi Subaru (Tokyo Babylon)

There was much internal debate about whether Subaru should even be on the list, considering how I seem to have a hate/hate relationship with CLAMP these days. However, despite the disillusionment and quite a large change in my taste on favoured anime/manga characters, I have come to the realisaiton that Subaru will always be one of my favourite anime manga/character. There's way too much emotion and nostalgia wrapped up with Subaru for me -not- to want to put him on this list. He's here because I smile at the happy memories that he smiles, he's here because I can still mourn the innocence he lost, and the loved ones that was taken from him. And really, let's just leave it as that.

9. Sakurazuka Seishirou (Tokyo Babylon)

Oh come on, as if I can have one without the other. Pretty much the same reasons as the above, although Sei-chan have many other good points as well. He looks good ^__^, he's an assissin, he's obsessive, and he's forever linked with cherry blossoms in my mind ^__^... and also he has the honour of having the death that most traumatised me. I was so heavily invested in him *sighs*

8. Gon (HunterxHunter)

Innocent in the truest sense, and that's what make Gon such a wonderful and lovable character. His concepts of evil and good is not morally attached to people/things. It is always interesting just to see how he see the world and what exactly he notices that everone else doesn't. Beside, he's sooooo cute, and man when he get pissed he's scary.

7. Char Aznable (Gundam)

Manipulative, cold, and slightly obsessive. The man will carry through his plans no matter the consequences, or the people he hurt. Yet, he is -not- even the slightest ambitious, he does things for his own personal reasons, they might be wrong or they might be right, either way, his objective are very clear to himself, and he'll use the means at his disposal to achieve his goals. Despite all of these (well, negative) traits, he's charismatic, charming and honourable. I'm a sucker for these type of characters.

6. Cho Hakkai/Tenpou (Saiyuki Reloaded/Gaiden)

Cho Hakkai: Because he smiles without meaning it, because he can be cold blooded, because maybe he doesn't actually care, because he will happily gut you while telling you exactly what you did to piss him off. And you know he's -enjoying- it. Because despite it all he can care for those who deserve it but is cold/indifferent enough not to care for those who doesn't deserve his compassion, because he killed 1000 youkai when he was only human.

Tenpou: Because he reads, and reads, and reads, until he falls asleep reading, because he -does- have a temper that allows error, because he's extremely manipulative, because you get the impression he's calculating every second of every day, and he's not so honourable/nice that he won't use his friends, but honourable/nice enough to know when to stop.

5. Gatts (Berserk)

What make Gatts' character work for me is the fact that he is a -human- fighting demons and -winning-. The man does not give up. Every good thing, every skill he acquires, every win in battle, he -worked- and -bled- for. No short cut for this guy. And damn it, he can be so gentle and if only, in only, he found out what he truly wanted a bit earlier, if only... *cries*

4. Killua (HunterxHunter)

Happy, sneaky, little boy who kills. What is there not to like ^__^ He likes sugar, he's arrogant, and he can pull off the innocent act like no one can. He's just GREAT!! But seriously, child killers are always fascinating charcters in anime/manga, but what I like most about Killua is the fact that despite his maturity in the killing department, he is still a child.

3. Asakura Yoh (Shaman King)

Ah, Yoh, Yoh, Yoh, how I adore the boy. Beyond his wonderful outlook in life, his love of music, his constant state of laziness, it's his undoubtable belief that he will -be- Shaman King that make me all happy and warm. Such confidence. He does everything not just for his own sake, but for everyone else's dream as well. I love the boy ^___^ Some people might say that Gon and Yoh's personality are very similar, I'd agree, sure both of them give peole the benefit of the doubt, but the thing with Yoh is he does -realise- what is going on with all the moral implications, yet he still goes and do it anyway, because it is the only way where everyone will come out of it relatively unscathed and happy.

2. Griffiths (Berserk)

This was a hard decision. What Griffiths chose at the end of the anime series repulsed and disturbed me on many levels. It was cold, horrible, and he did it knowing exactly what was to happen. And to tell you the truth it horrified me, but the fact is, I might not agree with his decision, but I -understand- why he chose the path that he did. He's manipulative, ruthless, charming, beautiful and charismatic, all the things that would make a great hero, yet he isn't. His ambition, his dream, to achieve them he'll do anything, run over anyone... except Gatts, but even that fails when the man leaves and Griffiths takes the path that he has been walking for far too long. And well, sometime people lose hope and despair is the only choice they have. Yet, despite all the horrible things that was done, Griffiths is still all too human.

1. Himura Kenshin (Ru Rouni Kenshin)

It shouldn't be that much of a surprise that I chose Kenshin. When I say I like Kenshin, I don't just mean the wanderer, I mean the Kenshin that was formed from the Battousai and Shinta. I don't like making a distinction between the three, because as far as I'm concerned they are the same, they just changed and matured. So yeah, back to why I love Kenshin, I love him for his courage, for his compassion, for his will to do -right- thing. There are so many reasons for me to love Kenshin, and no matter how the series ended, or how bad it was at times, Kenshin made it worth it.

However, I still refuse to ackowledge the second OAV series. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid you have no idea how many people I had to cut out because when it came down to it I didn't actually like them as much as I thought I did. And I'm still not 100% happy with it bceause, well, I'm still iffy about a few of the characters. I need to sleep on it, so, don't be surprised if I do take out a few of the characters and add a few new ones as replacements.
