The boy and I have a place of our own now. It has 3 bedrooms (well, more like 1 bedroom, a study and storage), living/dining/kitchen area, laundry, 2 bathroom and a toilet. The whole thing is kind of awesome... except we are also in debt for the next 20 to 25 years of our lives. I suppose it could have been worse. This means new postal address and new landline, call/tx/lj me if you require my new address and/or landline.

On fandom news; I have been re-watching Leverage. I’m taking my time because I want to enjoy it to the best of my ability. The show just makes me gleeful; it is fun, it is happy and I love all the characters to bits.

I have also been watching an obscene amount of Gackt related videos. The man is the most entertaining person I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. His sheer presence has the ability to crack me up. I also find him much more attractive when he is being a giant dork as opposed to SUPER COOL GACKTO. His sense of humour is hilarious, and the awesome crack activities he get the TV presenters to do is just fantastic. I love seeing the presenters doing the ab-machine exercise or the crotch-flexibility machine thing. Oh, the LOOK of sheer pain on the male presenters will forever make me smile.

Also, everybody is in awe or stunned-stupidity when they first meet Gackt. Everybody. The way the celebrities react to him is hilarious; from complete fans to slight discomfort, no matter how they react when they first meet him, they are usually laughing and/or in awe of him at the end of the show. Usually a combination of both. The man is awesome... though still not sexually attractive.

I love Gackt.

This is slightly strange and novel for me. I mean this is Gackt, he who is so out there that I can only admire him and not, well, not like. Except, OMFG! I have been listening to his music and I have been watching/reading some of his newer interviews, and OMFG! I think he is beginning to show a bit of himself as opposed to Gackt, the 470-yr-old vampire. Not saying he isn’t weird anyway but the man is so driven and is so very ambitious.

Hell, I’m beginning to find him hot. OMFG!

On being asked about what he will be like in 10 years time?
Gackt’s answer - “Can’t be seen because I’m too shiny.”

I'm not the most loyal of music fans by a long stretch; in fact I tend to go through phases of the type of music I like to listen to. In the past 12 months or so I have gone through Korean pop, English power metal, Nightwish (how do I classify them?), Chinese rap, Industrial, Korean R&B, Massive Attack & Muse (I have no idea where to place the 2 of them), American country, J-pop, and then Korean girl pop. So, now I find myself being drawn back to JRock and Visual Kei, which I haven't seriously listened to in years. I've started to listen to my Dir En Grey stuff again, some Gackt (you know, I tend to forget just how good he really is, because Gackt the Entertainer tend to overwhelm everything he does), Miyavi (OMFG! He just breaks my mind at times), Oblivion Dust (I like them I just don't love them, but they make some very interesting pieces), and then by some accident I discovered VAMPS.

Anyway, this whole side-trip led me back to Dir En Grey and Kagrra, and some late 80s, early 90s Visual Kei that was original, amazing and so awesome for its time but isn't anymore. I think the last true VK bands were Dir En Grey and Kagrra, and all these new bands makes me realise just how generic they are now, not really contributing anything to the evolution of Visual Kei. Except, well, except Miyavi is doing these amazing things that I can't even really articulate because he is asking questions and doing all these music that while I may not like feels as if he is pushing for something more. Like he is trying to make music that is unique, and I'm 100% behind that.

After much nostalgia and waving my little 'VK' flag I accidentally discovered SKIN. And babyjesusmaryandjoseph, a band that includes Yoshiki, Gackt, Miyavi and Sugizo; if this is not a sign on Yoshiki and Gackt's part to take over the world I don't know what else it can be. EXCEPT it is 2009 and there isn't even an ALBUM yet! Somebody make Yoshiki produce it; Gackt please make this happen! I love Yoshiki because it is kind of difficult not to love somebody who pretty much made Visual Kei main stream, and opened the door for so many talented musicians, but at the same time it is pretty damn obvious that Yoshiki has been stuck in this really strange head space where he can't seem to make music for himself. There is intent behind this band I just hope it can realise it fully.

Off to watch more Gackt.

ETA: I like Gackt, I can see why people would find him hot, I honestly cannot handle thinking about Gackt and sex. It hurts. My love for Gackt is strangely asexual; I find him hilarious, and often than not I'm in awe of him, but I just can't handle the sexual aspect of it. MIND BREAK.

In other news; Supernatural gets a fifth season! IT IS OFFICIAL! OMFG! Do you know what this means? It means Kripke will be writing/directing/producing the cliff-hanger that will END all cliff-hangers! It will be GLORIOUS, it will be MAGNIGICENT, and it will leave fandom HOWLING on the ground.

This is going to be awesome. I didn’t realise how much I needed that. Now if only FOX will allow another season for Sarah Connor Chronicles my life will be complete.

perseid!!! DBSK's new single Bolero. OMFG! OMFG! OMFG! The OPENING, and the BRIDGING parts at the 3 minutes mark. They are TRYING NEW things in this single! CHANGMIN! OMFG! THE HIGH NOTES! And CHANGMIN! BABY just BLASTS the whole thing into the stratosphere.

Oh gods, please let this BREAK the 100,000 units mark in Japan.

perseid, have you seen DBSK performing 'Wrong Number on Music Core??!! OMFG!!! THEY WORE PINSTRIPE SUITS!!!!!! Gods, I'm so very shallow when it comes to them, but OMGF! It is a LIVE performance, and they NAIL it!!!! Also, Yunho sitting on his back up dancers NEVER gets OLD! NEVER!

OHGODS! We NEED to SEE each other SOON!!!! People do NOT understand my obsession with their HIGH NOTES! And JAEJOONG (I mean, JAEJOONG!!) rapping! I may have watched this performance, um, a few times. But WHAT ELSE AM I MEANT TO DO WITH THIS ENFORCED STAY AT HOME THING?! OK, so my stomach is feeling much better and I think I may be almost 100% come this evening, so not so bad.

I LOVE how, apparently, the Japanese Entertainment industry is just waiting for Johnny to DIE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMFG! The old man is NEVER going to die! He is going to be one of those old man that’s just going to live forever because he is kind of awesome in his evil ways. But seriously, you have got to admire the old goat for having the Japanese Entertainment Industry by the balls for over half a century. It AMUSES me GREATLY!

Oh, yesterday, I DISCOVERED good Heroes slash. That occupied me for a few hours.

DBSK's new Japanese single MIROTIC has reached #1 on the Daily Oricon Ranking. Current units sold = 30,596. They just need to sell another 30,000 or so units this week and they should be able to manage a #1 Weekly Oricon Ranking, if so this will be like their 4th consecutive weekly #1s. OMFG! No one knows how EXCITED I AM ABOUT THIS! MY EXCITMENT CANNOT BE TEXTUALLY RENDERED!

perseid, we MUST CELEBRATE! I know this is kind of pathetic, but seriously, our boys are prettier and more talented than most of the other bands out there.

The DBSK members welcome JunSu, who has just arrived in Paris from Brazil. There is hugging, there is face squishing, and there is harmonising of welcome, no I'm serious, they honestly harmonised their welcome. JunSu is completely off his face, and JunSu and Yuuchun sings O Champ Elysees, argues over how to pronounce Bonjour, and yodels. Yes, yodels. I swear the boy is high.

And then I watch clips of this year's MKMF - all 13 of members of Super Junior arrives via 2 vans. All 13 of them, this surprised me, I don't remember the last time when all 13 of them were together.

CSJH The Grace pwns ALL other girl bands. Gods, they are hot. They are the ones in pink and black, not the bubble-gummy group in the middle. If nothing else the clip shows the variety of girl groups in Korea.

Also, just in case you have forgotten - Gackt at the MKMF performs Dispair and Redemption, proves that while on stage, he is still the God of the Aisan music industry. I love the microphone he uses during Redemption. Some of the Korean artists watch on with bemusement and WTF, while the CSJH girls and Heechul obviously love it. Though the former enjoyed the music, while the latter may possibly become the biggest Gackt stalker in history.
