I just had an epiphany (as I'm plodding along at maths,) in a few centuries time; Britney Spears is going to be known as the Greatest Poet to have ever walked the Earth. Millions of students will be put through units where they discuss and dissect (wank, wank, wank) about the meaning of the line; 'Baby hit me one more time.'

No, I'm not kidding. Serious here. Think about it; Shakespeare was a pulp writer of his time, nowadays considered to be one of the Greatest Writer of all Time. How many poor High School students had to analyse 'Romeo and Juliet', or 'Othello'? Why? Apparently they are considered to be high literature when, back in the days, it was cheap entertainment. There's Dickens, Bronte, and a whole plethora of pulp writers of their day that are now a staple aspect of our education system.

Humanity is so doomed. Doomed I tell you. DOOMED.

(This entry brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] code_renegade's question on why Everything have to be read as sexual in literature. DOOMED I say.)
