So, I have come to the realisation that perhaps I want to keep my lj and dw accounts separate, at least when it comes to content. However, I’m still very unsure about the type of content I want to keep on dw so I think I shall take an organic approach, that is, see where it goes naturally.

I have been re-reading the Foreigner series by C.J. Cherryh, and it still is one of my all time favourite sci-fi series. LOVES so very much.

Also, it seems getting an invite code for DW is quite a difficult thing.

Testing out the new crossposting capabilities of dw.

A few meta-ish thoughts; I’m not a contributor to fandom, at least not in the ways of fanfiction, fanart or other fan-activities. I do reviews, I meta and I squee, but mostly I consume fan-products; fics, arts, music-mixes and so forth. Even then I don’t do these activities with much discipline as my attention span is like that of a gnat. Sparkly things will distract me, and if a show becomes ‘bad’ or becomes something I no long care about I tend to stop talking about it all together. This is a bit of a double-edged sword; on the one hand it means I don’t get caught up in wank and have a much saner outlook on fandom (LAUGH people, laugh, we READ porn about FICTIONAL people, how can we take it seriously?), however, it also means I don’t have the social capital (thank you charmian) to influence others into my way of thinking (I like to be right, being wrong ruffles my feathers, I’m trying to change that) or to even discuss my pet-theories because no one knows me. Thank gods I have RL people to blather to.

Anyways, my next fannish/meta-ish thought, the one I have had since Dear Awesome Bela was killed, and Castiel became the new bicycle for the SPN slash fandom. To put into context (post via fools_game... I wonder how the user name tag will crosspost), when Misha Collins was asked why he thinks certain guest-stars are more popular than others.

"It's because I'm not female."

And with that I’m going to go and have some lunch.

This entry have made my dw account really pretty! There appear to be a few bugs in regards to the left hand menu but I can deal as it is so much more pretty than the basic dw style.

I appear to be encountering some problems in regards to importing my lj entries. I get the message in my inbox telling me that importing of entries has been successful but none of my lj entries shows up. I am fairly confused.

Mostly I'm awaiting for the cross-posting capability to appear on dw, and then we shall see how things proceed. I may decide to keep my dw account and my lj account separate but I'm still undecided. So far the dw account has been quite fun.

I appear to be suffering from some DNS problem in regards to accessing lj in any way, shape or form while at work. So, dw it is!

In regards to the dw account, I’m unsure of the reasons but I’m far more comfortable here than I am at IJ or, um, or whatever the other journal platform was called. Maybe it is because it is so similar to lj, or maybe it is because the invite only aspect makes me feel like I’m joining a blogging platform filled with old friends and like-minded individual! I suspect it is the latter.

This post by charmian made me think about what type of fan-activities or literary activities I like to (or would) participate in. It is a sad thing to say, but I prefer activities that allow me the opportunity to rant or express my opinions in the most succinct matter, and then moving onto a new topic. Perhaps this is why I find myself not being able to contribute in book-reading/review comms. The problem with reviews is that it is a static opinion/view made by other people that I either agree with or disagree, and for me, doesn’t seem to invite an opinion or an open discussion. I’m not explaining myself clearly, but I find reviews by its very nature to be rigid and uninviting. Free flowing discussions and/or links with an overarching them engage me much more. Or at the very least keeps me entertained.

Also, seinen manga - Until Death Do Us Apart makes me squee in glee.
