The Chinese New Year concert this year, well, it didn’t suck, and it was kind of awesome, this is very surprising. The set up for the concert hall is on a completely different level; the whole stage is set up with massive flat screens from ground to ceiling (I’m pretty sure the concert hall is about 10m high, at the very least). Hell, their curtains were round screens. It is just awesome. Also, I’m still trying to get over the fact they had Jay Zhou and Jackie Chan on tonight.

The dance performances are all so mesmerising, like just stunningly beautiful. The panda one was cute, the ocean-themed one was amazing, and the martial arts face-off one between the female and male members of the family was hilarious (very Kung-fu hustle, though breaking out into a tango was really kind of scary). Also, the Irish dancers, OMFG! I wish I had kept up learning it, but you know, Australia, not exactly the greatest place to continue learning Irish dancing.

On the tennis front because I have been watching (clips and such because I DON’T have a TV anymore); OMFG! Jankovic! WTF?! Federer, Nadal, Roddick, Djokovic and Murray! *BITES NAIL*. OMFG! The next few days for male tennis are going to be insane. At this point there is a shit load of threats to a Nadal and Federer face-off, it is kind of terrifying; Djokovic and Murray are highly dangerous, though I have to admit Djokovic is more likely to win because he has had the experience of winning a Grand Slam, though Murray can be kind of terrifying when necessary. Also, while I think Roddick have the ability to win he has huge problems when it comes to focus and mental strength. The thing is this Australian Open for the guys is completely open because any of them can win.

ETA: BESTEST CHINESE NEW YEAR CONCERT! OMFG! JUST SO AWESOME! It is good being Chinese today!

Still eating, still drinking, and why is the New Year concerts this year so very crap? I keep on hoping some of the good musicians would start performing soon.
