I went shooting for the first time ever today.

It was all kind of awesome. Used 5 guns; a .22 rifle, the revolver, a.22 semi-automatic, a .38 lever action rifle, and a 12 gage double-barrel shotgun.

I actually prefer the revolver over the semi-automatic because the former requires more adjustment after shooting. It is just more fun as a sports-based gun. The semi-automatic was too smooth; the recoil was hardly noticeable when compared with the .22 revolver and the rifle. The .38 lever action rifle was wicked fun, I felt a bit like Ash.

The 12 gage double-barrel shotgun was both awesome and terrifying. I shot 6 rounds and I refused to shoot anymore. The kick back from that gun felt like you got punched in the chest; for a split second all the air in your body is forced out of you. I also have the beginning of a bruise on my right shoulder where I had to braise the shotgun. That’s how much power it had. It is really hard to describe but there is so much power and so much noise, and it is just the biggest rush ever.

I have got 3 shell casing; a .22, a .38 and the 12 GA. The 12 GA can slide over my whole index finger. The coolest thing is that on the bottom of the shell is engraved with the following words, ‘WINCHESTER 12 GA’. There will be photos; I just need to find the bloody cable for my phone.

So going back there soon, and definitely spending half of my birthday at the gun range.
