SGA season 4 - I'm actually enjoying the show. Teyla and Ronon are so much more awesome this season than the last two. This is a major plus.

Also, in regards to Miller's Crossing - John, you are kind of cool but you are no Adam Carter, who, during the time span of ~5 minutes, won the prize for the most chilling/badass/awesome character, ever. We shall not speak of his characterisation post that initial introduction.

In addition – I started watching As the World Turns clips on youtube. Yes, I am mostly watching Luke and Luke & Noah clips. OMFG! 2 guys kissing on DAYTIME soap - this makes me outrageously happy. What makes it better is that Luke is actually an awesome character; I’m ridiculously in love with the boy.

And that’s about it on the fandom front.

Stargate Atlantis

Stargate Atlantis why are you so good for 2 or 3 episodes, and then suck for about the next 12 episodes? Why?! Last 2 episodes of season 2 was all sorts of awesome, and then, then - *wild hand gestures of rage*. Retro-vrius & the Wraith )

McKay is still the awesomest of the awesome.

ETA: - People want the California State Attorney General to get involved with the LJ/6A thing. Oh gods *HEADDESK*. [livejournal.com profile] _leareth explains why this is a BAD idea.

updates of a sort

Happy Belated (sort of) Chinese New Year, was meant to update yesterday but got sidetracked by, um, stuff. I spent the eve of the 28th eating lots of food, more food, and then playing Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. I even named my assassin chick MisaMisa (because Misa deserve so much more love and recognition, I bow before her pinky bubblegum-ness). Dear MisaMisa is level 22 at the present time (that's like 22 levels in approximately 24 hours or so. I'm very proud,) she's also decked out in the most expensive armour and weaponry I can find. That's a lot of perfect gems; I discovered the software Atma and have not looked back since then.

Oh, and mum made me wear red; lots of it, about 20 minutes before New Year, she also made me wear a red belt, because you know, it is my Calendar Year (born in the Year of the Dog.)

Have watched a bit of season 9 of SG1; Ben Browder and Claudia Black is still very hot. No matter how the writers tell me otherwise they will forever be John Critchon and Aeryn Sun to me. As a side note, the current arc is actually kind of interesting. I'm always fascinated with the meta of what defines a God, though as this is Stargate, no doubt the writers will write the series out of a moral and a philosophical corner with little consideration for the actual repercussions. *sigh*

Season 2 of SGA makes me laugh and smile; Rodney is just awesome, Sheppard still make my head hurts (I can’t pin down his character, damn you writers, just give the man a history already,) Teyla kicks much arse as usual, Weir have moments of steel (happiness), and I really, really, really like Ronon. He clicks with the team like Ford never did, though Ford ver2.0 makes me happy in all sorts of ways that is really hard to pin down.

ravages of time, sga-rant

[livejournal.com profile] worldserpent, you might like to know that I spent precious accounting-tutorial preparation time yesterday (and this morning around 3:00am) reading Ravages of Time. First off I'd like to say it is a bit too early for me to pass judgement on the series (just finished volume 1), however, I do like the overall feel of it (more 'Chinese' than some of the other adaptations of ROTK) and will definitely be continuing with it.

To tell the truth I'm still trying to get over the urge to squee 'com OMFG! I have this huge soft spot for this particular type of art style. (Though I do have one complaint; the translation causes me massive migraines mainly because I'm pretty sure some of the phonetics is in Cantonese rather than Mandarin, and it takes quite a bit for my brain to go 'Oh! I get it.' I am incapable of making mad leaps of logic at 3 in the morning -_- ;;)

[livejournal.com profile] nekomancy, I just realised that I still have your b-day present at my house. Hmm, must get it to you when I have free time.

ETA 1: Where are the GEN!FANFICTION in Stargate Atlantis?! ALL I WANT is some good TEAM-DYNAMIC fanfiction with PLOT, NO p0rn, and OMFGBBQ!NO ROMANCE! WHY is there a LACK?!

Considering how new sga is the amount of slash in the fandom freaks me out. It is not that I can't see the pairing(s) (het and slash) but I'm more obsessed about the whole 'TEAM-DYNAMIC' and 'OMFG!WRAITH and GENNI!' aspect of the series than I am over specific 'pairings'.

In addition, I kind of think Female!Wraith and Sheppard is kind of hawt. *gets shot*

WOE ME!

ETA 2: [livejournal.com profile] amei, the Batman WON the 'Who's the Cooler Superhero' poll. Eleven votes to Superman's ONE vote. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (Hell, even Spiderman won against Superman *sniggers*) The MOB has SPOKEN!

Life is good (hectic, insane and at times down right frustrating... but good.)

Anime/manga fandom: Quite lean.

Stargate: Atlantis is good, which is making me confused. The series is a combination of cheese and some truly dark and ambitious moments, and it is the dark and ambitious moments that are making me a fan of the show. [livejournal.com profile] perseid, I rec the show.

P.S. Rodney McKay is awesome.
