SPN notes

naanima: ([SPN] J2 snooze)
I have been up since 4am this morning; my insomnia has kicked into overdrive. Did work, read a copious amount of SPN fics, and avoided spoilers like the plague. On other news - I have dad fully addicted to Supernatural. After watching series 1, dad had many words of wisdom.

On the subject of Dean: "I like him. A very good older brother and he's handsome without looking like a girl, like that pasty actor in that film with people in suits and sun-glasses." [Dad has disliked Keanu Reeves ever since he saw The Matrix, he thinks Neo is the biggest Girl to have ever walked this Earth. This is despite liking the guy for years because of Speed. Also, dad is the oldest of four children so he was going to like Dean on principle alone - Dean made dad laugh, which pretty nailed it for Dad].

On the subject of Sam: "What a smart young man, not just academic-smart but very dangerous-smart." [Dad's a bit mixed up about Sam, he's all for Sam going off on his own, because that's what young guys do, but the whole not contacting the family, dad was not too impressed by that].

Oh, and dad's reaction to the ending of season1 was hilarious:

Dad [as the three Winchester drives away]: "That's a nice ending."
Dad [2-mins later, the scene that left the fandom screaming]: "What? That was the worst ending ever!"
Dad [an hour later]: "You have season 2, right?"

In addition, while watching/listening to MythBusters (I was focusing more on the email that I was typing than actually watching the show):

Voice-over: "And the team test .... Winchester."
    Me: "Where?! ... Oh."

Me dork.

SPN & Life

On my re-watching of SPN - finished Wendigo, Route 666 and Shadows). And wow – Sam was so skinny, Dean was so excited about everything, and there was this sense of a grand ol' adventure, whereas now it is death, damnation and the stakes are about a thousandth times more deadly then season 1. It is really amazing just how different season 1 and 2 are – in both the external and the internal sense. Emotionally I think Dean and Sam are in a completely different head space than what they were in s1, thematically their journey should have ended at the end of IMTOD, except in many ways it is just the beginning of their story. I love how SPN is not afraid to change, to tackle the consequences of its actions [success of the tackling still under observation], nor afraid to push the boundary on, let's admit it here, a very teenager-oriented network.

Sam and Dean )

It is like watching two different shows. !

RL-wise: feel like roadkill but so very excited about my life.

del.icio.us and spn

naanima: ([SPN] Sam is all red heart)

I am finally using del.icio.us, and re-watching Supernatural. Life is pretty damn good.

I also think it may be a good thing that there will be no new SPN for another 3 weeks (may). I can use this time to work, study and re-watch the s1 & s2 of SPN - to SQUEE, to meta, and take notes. Also, while re-watching Route 666 I noticed something about Sam - Where I babble about SAMMY, because the boy grows on you )

I LOVE Sam! And one day I need to talk a bit about how I went from being kind of indifferent to Sammy to being - I LOVE SAMMY!

Also, I LOVE CASSIE and DEAN! I think this is like a fandom no-no.

More "Supernatural" blathers.

naanima: (pervy thoughts)
The thing with this show is that it can be great and in fact manages to reach greatness in scenes that blows my mind away. However, despite the greatness it stumbles over itself at times by a forced script. This is utterly frustrating as the series proves over and over again that it can reach a height of shiny goodness that makes me happy in a way that only 4 cans of beer and much food can do.

spoilers from 101 - 122... Mostly end of season 1, because I love the Winchesters )

More to say, but need to study, talk later.

Supernatural

THANK YOU [livejournal.com profile] velithya!

I am watching Supernatural now. It is not the best series ever, it barely makes it into the good series category for me, but omfg! The Winchester family makes it so damn addictive.

I really like Sam, I just like Dean more, and I think John is so awesome that I can't even verbalise properly. Though he's like the prime example of the Shounen!Father... it is kind of scary actually.
