Mum and I spent Sunday night glued to the television watching an interview with Andy Lau (Chinese cable, how I love you). I have had a semi-crush on the man since I was 5-yr-old when I first saw Return of Condor Heroes. Sometime I think all of Asia has had the biggest crush on the guy for at least the better part of last 20 years. He just keeps on getting hotter the older he gets - I think it is the way he carries himself; self-assurance and a sense of humbleness all wrapped up in one nice package.

Anyways, back to the point - I always forget just what a huge dork he is, and just how hilarious he can be during interviews; that man makes me laugh so very much. I mean, this is the guy who said, deadpan, that “I will beat you to death”, on national television, in regards to the anit-fan who poisoned YunHo (of DBSK) last year. He also did his card tricks, which was kind of awesome, and left me with the urge to dig up my copy of God of Gamblers 1 and 2. Also, for a 46-yr-old, Mr. Lau have the body of a man at least 10 years younger than him.

In short – Andy Lau is ♥!

Currently trying to work out my superannuation, taxes, and trying to figure out the new changes to the Australian Tax legislation post-budget - ARGH!!

Moving on, [livejournal.com profile] perseid, remember how we chatted about your, um, mental age due to some of your interest, well, you can laugh at me now. I'm terribly infatuated with Super Junior, yes, the South Korean 13-member boy band, this is so embarrassing. But omfg, their Full House is hilarious, and their dork-like actions is just priceless. I’m still having some problems keeping track of all of them, but we’ll see. (There is ENGLISH fanfiction on them! OMG!).

Also, 陈楚生, the winner of the Chinese (all male) version of American-Idol continues to pwn me. His voice and his talent continue to blow me away.

Youtube is awesome.

China Idol: Happy Boy Voice (快乐男声)

I don’t watch American Idol, Australian Idol, or the host of other competition/reality shows; they bore me to tears. However, the Chinese idol-like shows make me their bitch. I screamed out the injustice at Li Yuchun (李宇春) winning Super Girl (all female competition). I applaud Li Yuchun for her transgender appearance, however, she was not the most talented of the finalist (hell, she wasn’t even the second most talented).

Li Yuchun (李宇春); the ‘Supergirl’, she is possibly more popular than a god in mainland China.

Li Yuchun (李宇春) // Li Yuchun (李宇春)

Anyway, the point is I just spent approx 3 hours watching the Happy Boy Voice (快乐男声) finale, and OMFG! I cried like a baby, wished I could vote, and had several screaming matches with mum and dad about the deserved winner of the contest. So, anyways, mum and my favourite won; Chen Chusheng (陈楚生) WON! AHAHAHAHA! Su Xing (苏醒) was the runner-up, I love the guy, but Chusheng was just that awesome.

The thing with Chen Chusheng (陈楚生) is that he has the presence of a 公子; stately, calm, and assertive when needs to be, and that is hot. He spent seven years singing in bars, believes that music is his life, and he made me cry my eyes out as he talked about his father; the person he admires the most in his life. Chen Chusheng appears calm at all times, but man, you know he wants to win. LOVES!

Chen Chusheng (陈楚生); the champion, hopefully will be as popular as the Supergirl. 视频:快男3进2 陈楚生激情演唱《Sophia》 - One of his better performance, singing ‘Sophia’. Chen Chusheng and his guitar is love.

ETA: For my Asian friends, um, does the Chinese fandom read/write RSP? If so, are there any English translations (my Chinese is at a horrible level) of say pop-star RPS? Specifically Happy Boy Voice (快乐男声) RPS.
