Korean Music is Awesome.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, if you are ALIVE, I'd just like to say I'm currently feeling very CONFUSED. SuJu have been producing BETTER music than DBSK (I mean, Sorry Sorry is far superior to Survivor, and OMFG! It's You's MV and music is just better than, well, it is better than Bolero... at least it is more listenable). My world is ENDING.

That's all.

Oh, wait, one other thing - I would like to book in a day to see you, preferably sometime after I have had a chance to watch the season finale of SPN, and hopefully after this weekend of Doom. Perhaps next weekend or the weekend after? (22nd or the 29th of May?).

I am listening to Super Junior's new single - Sorry Sorry none-stop. Like all of their previous main singles, Sorry Sorry is catchy and really upbeat. I can't believe how much I have missed them. Here’s hoping that they will make a successful comeback. In other Korean boy-band news; the massive amount of DBSK related goodness being produced by the Japanese music scene makes my little fangirl heart full of squee.

DBSK's new single - Survivor.

WHAT? I MEAN WHAT? OH GODS! They have REGRESSED! This is so JPOP I feel slightly dirty, OK, I admit; the song isn’t too bad but the DANCING, OH GODS! WHAT HORRIBLE DANCING! [livejournal.com profile] perseid, HOLD ME!

In other news; Supernatural gets a fifth season! IT IS OFFICIAL! OMFG! Do you know what this means? It means Kripke will be writing/directing/producing the cliff-hanger that will END all cliff-hangers! It will be GLORIOUS, it will be MAGNIGICENT, and it will leave fandom HOWLING on the ground.

This is going to be awesome. I didn’t realise how much I needed that. Now if only FOX will allow another season for Sarah Connor Chronicles my life will be complete.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, have you seen DBSK performing 'Wrong Number on Music Core??!! OMFG!!! THEY WORE PINSTRIPE SUITS!!!!!! Gods, I'm so very shallow when it comes to them, but OMGF! It is a LIVE performance, and they NAIL it!!!! Also, Yunho sitting on his back up dancers NEVER gets OLD! NEVER!

OHGODS! We NEED to SEE each other SOON!!!! People do NOT understand my obsession with their HIGH NOTES! And JAEJOONG (I mean, JAEJOONG!!) rapping! I may have watched this performance, um, a few times. But WHAT ELSE AM I MEANT TO DO WITH THIS ENFORCED STAY AT HOME THING?! OK, so my stomach is feeling much better and I think I may be almost 100% come this evening, so not so bad.

I LOVE how, apparently, the Japanese Entertainment industry is just waiting for Johnny to DIE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMFG! The old man is NEVER going to die! He is going to be one of those old man that’s just going to live forever because he is kind of awesome in his evil ways. But seriously, you have got to admire the old goat for having the Japanese Entertainment Industry by the balls for over half a century. It AMUSES me GREATLY!

Oh, yesterday, I DISCOVERED good Heroes slash. That occupied me for a few hours.

ALSO, OMFG WHY DO I HAVE 195 USERPIC SLOTS?!! DID I WIN A PRIZE OR SOMETHING? PLEASE EXPLAIN!

DBSK's new Japanese single MIROTIC has reached #1 on the Daily Oricon Ranking. Current units sold = 30,596. They just need to sell another 30,000 or so units this week and they should be able to manage a #1 Weekly Oricon Ranking, if so this will be like their 4th consecutive weekly #1s. OMFG! No one knows how EXCITED I AM ABOUT THIS! MY EXCITMENT CANNOT BE TEXTUALLY RENDERED!

Source: Oricon.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, we MUST CELEBRATE! I know this is kind of pathetic, but seriously, our boys are prettier and more talented than most of the other bands out there.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう?is #1 on the weekly Oricon chart, bringing DBSK their third #1, this means DBSK has broken another RECORD! The first non-Japanese group to have reached the number 1 spot of the Oricon Weekly Chart three times. And they haven't even done any promotions for the single yet. Happiness!

And I’m technically 26 today. Technically. *Shifty eyed*.

Still around – reading [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang and re-watching DBSK’s 3rd Live T Tour Concert clips on my iPod. Bigbang fics has been very draining this year, don’t get me wrong, the quality has been superb, but some of the angst has been both unflinching and unrelenting. As a consequence I have finally figured out what type of stories I prefer to read; generally speaking I prefer reading understated J2 fics, not the epics but fics that focus on the day-to-day lives of our heroes. I want to read about people falling in love; not the be all and end all love like that of Sam and Dean (platonic or otherwise). I want the quiet, understated and content love that some of the J2 fics has been pulling off so superbly.

[livejournal.com profile] reccea’s In Production is my current favourite big bang fic.

A decade after Supernatural ends, Jared Padalecki is still working in series television. His marriage to Sandy is coming to an amicable end, and he's famous enough that he wants to be out of town before he becomes a tabloid headline.

Jensen Ackles has seen his career progress from small but weighty parts that earned him acclaim to above the title billing. The notoriously private Jensen extends an invitation--by way of a first-class plane ticket--for Jared to hide out at Jensen's mostly empty Paris flat while he films his next movie.

Three months in Paris is enough to tone down the tabloid attention, but Jared returns to LA only to find that he doesn't have everything figured out. They say you can't go home again, but Jared discovers that sometimes that's exactly what you have to do.

In Production is my current happy place.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, DBSK’s 3rd Live T Tour Concert clips has been awesome; so much dancing, so much singing and so much FLESH! I really like the film clip they did for TRICK; it makes me want to read fics about the boys being spies. I love like YunHo’s long hair, the shiny silver outfits and they even made me like Tomorrow, which I hate with the passion of a thousand burning suns. I still prefer YunChun’s voice the most, and a live band at the concert was the best decision they ever made.
Good time, good times.
naanima: ([SJM] Zhoumi SMILES!)
Something that makes me happy - Super Junior M’s Chinese album Me. [livejournal.com profile] perseid, they leave SuJu in the sand when it comes to their vocals. OMFG! They can ALL sing. The only really weak singer out of their group is Hang Geng. I LOVE the boy, and while he is a phenomenon dancer, entertainer, and all-around good guy, he is not a great singer. I would say Siwon is probably the second weakest singer of the group, but his voice is fairly distinctive and some people prefer his type of voice.

Zhou Mi and Ryoweok are amazing. I want to listen to the two of them sing all day and night. Yes, I adore Kyuhan, but OMFG! RYOWEOK and ZHOU MI’s voices just get to me. Also, I LOVE Zhou Mi and would like to HIT all the Only13 fans, like really hard. The boy is PRECIOUS! I WANT TO FEED HIM FOOD AND HUG HIM! Just god damn it, leave him alone and let him sing, his voice is amazing and seriously he doesn’t need the shit from the anti-fans.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, I also offer a Super Junior M fic rec! Splinter

Things have been different since they got to China--more strained, and set on edge. Geng is driving himself hard, burning with a fierce unwillingness to believe the fans he loves could possibly turn against his dream (Zhoumi fears what could happen if that fire ever gutters out); Shiwon is ever-present and watchful, shoring Geng up and sharing his joy even as his idealism takes glancing blows.

It is about change and the ways each member deals with it. I LOVE this fic so much I want to metaphorically marry it.

Also, DBSK’s new single Beautiful You/Sennen Koiuta sold over 62K, which make them the second non-Japanese Asian artist to get 2 #1 weeklies in 24 years.

AND! Basing off the rumours and fan reports there is a high possibility of Rain appearing on The Colbert Report. OMFG! HUG!OFF!! EEE!

The only thing I don't like - WHY ARE THEY LIPSYNCHING?! It isn't as if they haven't performed the song LIVE in Japan. Sometime, Korea confuses me.

Korean pop bands - DBSK, Super Junior

naanima: ([DBSK] OH!)
So, I have been informed that I've been rather, um, Supernatural focused, so, to show that I still LOVE my Korean boy bands with an obsessive dedication, I'll dedicate this post to DBSK and the SuJu boys.

About 2 weeks ago DBSK (Dong Bang Shin Gi (동방신기 - Rising Gods of the East), a 5 member acapella/boyband, returned to Korea to star on NUMEROUS variety shows, many a fangirl expired at the thought, for all of us has missed the boys on Korean variety shows. There is a certain level of crack that the boys never manage to reach on Japanese variety shows. There are many reasons as to why I adore them enough that I was contemplating naming my first born after certain members (shut up [livejournal.com profile] perseid, I have passed that stage, kind of) I love them; for one they can actually sing. In fact I got addicted to their songs well before I ever saw them perform, and their performance of Rising Sun pretty much blew me away, and there was just no looking back. Despite their success they are still so damn humble, and considering their average age is 21 I think it is just an amazing thing. I LOVE them to bits because they are honestly nice people yet still manages to be such big dorks!

For the MOST AWESOME OF PIMP POST on DBSK. There are PICTURE, VIDEOS, and SO MUCH MORE!!

Tohoshinki (their name in Japan) on HEY!HEY!HEY! there is Talking and an AWESOME performance of Purple Line, their #1 Oricon chart single.

Purple Line Rehearsal because they ARE DORKS, and decide to do a few moves of Tell Me song done by a GIRL GROUP! I LOVE them LOADS.

Or just go HERE, LOTS of current DBSK stuff.

Super Junior, the 13 (possibly 14, because of the violinist, don't ask) member boyband, just had their FIRST official concert, and OMFG! I am stupidly HAPPY for them. Considering the amount of crap they had to deal with to have this concert, this is EPIC! First, it was Heechul being involved in a car accident that left him with a metallic nail that spans the length of his WHOLE thigh, then it was the car accident in April 2007 involving 4 of their members that left 2 of them heavily injured; Leeteuk had 170 stitches, and KyuHyun suffered from a fractured hip, and pneumothorax from fractured ribs. He has only really begun to recover later/early this year, and everytime I see him performing I get stupidly TEARY.

For a cool PIMP POST on SUJU go HERE! This is more sharing of LOOT; profiles, pictures and music!!!

And ANOTHER SUJU PIMP POST!!! MUCH Youtube LINKS! There are so MUCH JEWELS here!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!

Or just go HERE, LOTS of current SuJu stuff.

The truth is that my LOVE for them CANNOT be TEXTUALLY RENDERED! Also, consider this an EDUCATIVE post on the study of ANOTHER CULTURE, because d00ds, seriously, there are other forms of media-entertainment beside English. OK, so the eye candy goodness help quite a bit, but sometime I just want my pretty hairless boys. And if they are talented? All the better for it!

2008 - DBSK's year.

DBSK has made it into the The United World Chart at #19 in sales for their album T beating individuals such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Celine Dion. They sold 52,000 copies, now they just need to sustain the level of sale for another, oh 10 weeks or so to make a lasting impression.

Also, last week (I think), it was confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records that DBSK had the biggest official fan club - over 800,000 active members. I'm impressed.

It was YunHo's birthday yesterday; leader-shii's fans are insanely organised; they bought him many expensive presents. Amongst the insanely awesome present there is a New Mac Pro, 2 LCD monitors, laptop and food. I'm both impressed and slightly scared at the level of organisation and fund-raising ability of DBSK's fans. They would make excellent fund-raisers for politicians.

SuJu and DBSK = LOVES!!

Photos from the Super Junior and Dong Bong Shin Ki (DBSK) Christams taping of EHB. I cannot wait for this episode; I may possibly explode from the GLEE and SQUEE! 11 hours of footage to be condensed down to 2 hours. OMFG! I hope they do an additional episode, at this point I'm perfectly happy watching them staring at paint dry.

Also, it has been officially 4 years since DBSK made their debut, and the fans send MASSIVE amount of food; the whole thing is damn impressive. There is cake, alcohol, fruits, pork and other savoury goods, and PIZZA! There are days that I love being a fan.

Life has been fairly good.

Watched Supernatural 308, there will be comments at some point in the near future. I'm still processing everything that happened during the episode. However, one of my reoccurring thought throughout was that Kripke is a major fanboy of Neil Gaiman. Bless the man's heart.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid and I fangirled muchly over Korean pop-artists; we have come to the conclusion that we are suffering from puberty in reverse as we are insanely obsessed over Korean boy bands. Though I confess I'm just obsessed with the Korean music industry in general.

BTW: Xiah Junsu has officially become sex!ass.

Have watched the Anyband concert; Tablo, BoA and JunSu is AWESOME! I'm still a bit confused at the pianist; she's cute, but her presence at a pop concert throws me a bit. BoA is so much more edgy (HOT) when performing in Korea; she's just awesome. Tablo and Epik High are such dorks; LOVES, and DBSK as usual made me squee with glee, though YunHo's absence hurts.

Also watched most of DBSK's Bonjour Paris DVD; YunHo and Jaejoong are so married, and everyone is just so damn cute.

As the World Turns is bringing back the ghei; Luke and Noah makes an appearance, finally, and I saw one of the best fictional depiction of how a grandparent would deal with a gay grandchild. I can't believe soap operas are bringing me semi-realistic depictions of relationships.

Also, I’m of two mind when it comes to LJ’s new customise layout page – it is rather counter intuitive.

Waiting for DVDs, books and more DBSK merchandise.

More Korean music, and AnyBand

I have had Last Angel by Koda Kumi featuring Tohoshinki and the two singles by AnyBand on repeat for the past 5 hours. It is kind of amazing how the members of DBSK sounds so much more awesome with a female singer that knows how to sing. Junsu and BoA together does this amazing thing where their two voices seem to melt into each other. And Last Angel is just so damn catchy, it is the perfect song to go jogging with.

[livejournal.com profile] perseid, I see what you mean by Forever Love, it is um, it is a good song, it shows off all their singing abilities (they have improved so very much) very well. However, there is just something about the tune of this song that makes it very generic and easily forgettable. I actually prefer Day Moon over it. All I know is that compared to Lovin' You and Proud the two singles seem a bit lacklustre.

Also, I present you AnyBand - the band that was specifically created for the sake of making the Samsung Anycall commercial. It features Junsu of DBSK, Bora (I don’t know much about her), BoA and Tablo of Epik High. It is over 9 minutes long, and if it was a movie I’d buying tickets for it right about now.

And this is why the Asian media (especially Korea and Japan) has marketing to perfection.

So, liking one Korean band is like opening the doorway to the Korean entertainment/music industry (or at the very least, the SM family). I know of ShinHwa, Rain, BoA and so forth, I have even heard some of their music in the past, but omfg, since SuJu and DBSK, I now know who the hell Jujin, Tony, Sunday, and many others are. X-man is no longer just a Marvel character anymore, oh no, it is my main fount of entertainment.

On X-man celebrities make fools out of each other and themselves, it is about having a laugh and seeing just how competitive famous individuals are. It is where Yoon Eun-hye flirts with Kim Joong Kook, where Kim Heechul rules at the “Of Course” game, and where celebrities are dorks. I love X-man. Also, Chae Yeon and Lee Hyori are hot, the fact that both singers are not in their early 20’s makes me really happy – older women are hot.

I love the fact that ShinHwa have been together for 9 years now; their music has evolved so much. Despite the fact that they are with different companies now they are still supportive of each other; writing for one another's solo albums, appearing at their concerts, and still working on a ShinHwa album to be released this year. I have for to admit some of their later music is awesome (solo or otherwise). Minwoo’s (M’S) Stomp is just wow. I love that Andy still does his Heart dance; it is as spastic as ever (I can’t stop laughing every time I see it). Eric and Hyesung’s relationship break my brain – I mean what?! And Dongwan is hilarious and so amazingly kind.

Also, Tony An, formerly of H.O.T. is awesome, I think it is the way he interacts with his employees, despite the fact that he is a CEO now he’s such a dork with everyone. The whole break up of H.O.T. hurts my fangirl heart so very much. Also, KangTa and Tony doing the Candy dance break my brain on many levels. BTW: Candy is a fecking infectious song; I can’t get it out of my mind!

I really, really, really LOVE the Korea K-pop scene – I may possibly opened a youtube account to keep track of my favourite K-pop related vids.
