This morning have been rather intense. Sometime I forget just how wide-ranging my dad's readings/beliefs are. We spent 15 minutes discussing (screaming) about the integrity of documentaries, which morphed into a dissection of world politics since the 1940's, and then finally concluding on the issue of free education (which we do agree on). This was followed by an amiable (mutual gushing session) agreement over Maggie Cheung and her fountain of youthfulness. We then moved onto other actors, dad argued that Tony Leung's 'male appeal' to a male audience 'cos Andy was too girly. Of course I screeched about the unfair judgement of Andy Lau, though after five minutes I had to admit that Lau is fairly uh, metrosexual -_-;;

Afterward, we started on the Greek Opening Ceremony, which I informed dad I hadn't seen. In return dad gave me this disapproving look and said that the Greek Op. Ceremony was probably one of the few things I should have watched. If nothing else it showcases creativity, the Greek history, and just how far we have come as a species. So, dad spoke about the standing ovation that the Iraq team received when they entered the arena. And I don't know, maybe it's the sound of awe in dad's voice, or maybe the fact that we had been discussing about the evolution of the human species, whatever it was I started crying. Because you know, humanity as whole does horrible things to each other all in the name of some greater good, which more often than not is a disguise for attacking the weak. But maybe, just maybe, if a bunch of people of mixed nationalities can get off their behinds and applaud a country that is in strife, for their bravery, for their right to stand proud in front of the world. Then maybe, just maybe, we are doing something right.

Elasticity of Demand.

It is something that shows something or other, and it should make sense. Somehow. I am indeed making a dent in my Economic Techniques book. I find slamming my head against it very therapeutic.

Otherwise, why is it that a large section of the Naruto fandom seem to think Kakashi is a horrible sensei to Naruto? The reason that Kakashi went off to teach Sasuke during the Chuunin exam was because Jiriya specifically told to him to take care of the Uchiha while Jiriya himself will personally teach Naruto. So yeah, a bit confused on the whole 'Kakashi plays favourite' thing.
