Maybe it depends on what you read. Shoujo tends towards having rather girly girls (or maybe that's my impression because I hven't read much of it rcently), but shounen is starting to show variation, if Bleach and Mankin and OP are anything to go by. XD (OP femmes don't always kick actual ass, but they're definitely cool people in their own right and only Alvida wears pink. XD;)

Rukia and Anna should have tea and kick the asses of all the other wimpy girls! They'd win, hands down, not even trying yet. Anna would just have to GLARE and they'd burst into tears! XD

And yes, the the whole angel thing rather annoys me too. Angelic pretty boys, my arse. *boots them*
