i agree with you 100%! romance novels make me want to beat my pillow in frustration - how can humans be so naive and cutesy?! Epic True Love = REAL romance, the "all consuming love" you speak of! 3D characters (regardless whether they have sex, though it is preferred!) are what i LOVE reading about, and stories with them are so hard to find. i mean, finding a superb and complex plot is one obstacle - but realistic characters?! ha.

anyway, like you said, nothing has been resolved in my commenting - but it felt good nonetheless! nice entry.
