Just saw The Bourne Supremacy.

MARIE!

Car chase TROUGH MOSCOW!

NO CG!

OMFG!

*fangirls*

It is MUCH better than the books! (Mind you I read them seven years ago so the memory is a bit spotty. BUT I do remember that Ludlum had a habit of droning on and on and on. There was the wife, there was China, and some sort of assassination attempt that dragged). However, (you know it was coming) why the SHAKY camera throughout the WHOLE film?! It would have worked much better if Greengrass had used hand held cameras sparingly. He had to go and screw up a perfectly good fight scene. It is too damn disruptive. But beyond that I'm terribly happy about the film.

*goes off to re-watch*

[EDIT: Yes, I have seen 'The Bourne Identity', I like it just that tiny bit more than 'Supremacy'. It has more to do with the damn shaky camera angle than anything else. Oh, and my body is in full revolt].

You are dead to me. :D

The books were awesome! Although, yeah, long, and I sort of wished whatsername would just die already sometimes and drop the love story stuff. Still. I like the story a lot better, because we learn it bit by bit, as he does, and it's mich more complicated. The movies used a totally different plot, and while they're good action movies in their own right, they're not so much connected to the books. Which is totally fine with me; it'd probably be impossible to have a decent-length movie that went into everything the books did. It's just--they're good movies, but not good adaptions, and not good versions of the story Ludlum set out to tell. :D

I totally didn't notice the moving cameras! Then again, I watched the movie on the plane here, so it was probably all shaky and scratchy and I just didn't notice.

Ah Ha! I have disclaimer! It has been over eight years since I last read them (I double checked), and I probably forgot a lots of details from it. I remember enjoying them at the time (the only reason why I'd have continued with the series till Ultimatum).

I like the movie for it is own sake (action? I see it as more of a thriller. Bond is more action,) and I was very glad that they didn't attempt to adapt the book, 'cos that would have been suicide. I am, however, of the full agreement that the film is 'not good versions of the story Ludlum set out to tell'. The problem with Ludlum's novels is that he was writing them based on the Cold War era and unfortunately they won't fit with the world now.

*laughs* the plane would do that. The fight between Bourne and the other Treadstone operative made my eyes hurt.

One question, I -really- can't remember much from the novels but at one point did Bourne return to the Guy who was in charge of everything, and it was revealed that the Guy was almost like a father figure to Bourne? (It has been a long time, and the only clear thing I remember is someone commenting on Bounre that the 'Prodigal son has retunrned.'

Re: wah?
I'm ok now, it was just that during that day I threw up several times and I ended up doing something weird to my right ankle. But I'm fine now ^__^
