...suikoden4

So, I'm pretty sure I screwed up chunks of my CorpLaw mid-term when I should have known better, and the maths mid-term can go either way -_-;;;

I know I'm behind on replies and such but after Saturday I needed to disconnect from the internet and just relax. So, what did I do? I role-played, and I have also wracked up 15+ hours on Suikoden 4. And OMFG! KONAMI! You BITCH!

The actual sea battle is a piece of cake (I do strategy games me friends.) Hell, the actual battles have similar controls to most of these Japanese games; move, standby, action, etc. In fact it is so easy it is kind of disappointing. But hopefully the battles will require more skill later on. On the upside; you do have control of your own squads, the lack of which I still rue from the first game.

The sea travel is a good idea, even if it takes me 30+MINUTES at times to get somewhere. Novelty and such, but F%CKINGSH$T! Couldn't they make DOCKING easier?! Attempting realism is all good ang great but not when it make the player so fucking angry and frustrated that she want to throw the damn control across the room.

Plot: At present time in the game, it is a bit lacking -_- (You have no idea how much it hurt to say this.)

Characters: Silent heroes are not my thing (and why don't Konami name their bloody heroes already. In a fit of whim I named my hero; 'H4'.) There are however, some awesome characters, Kika makes me all *__* And Troy seem pretty cool (though when I first saw him I went, 'SQUALL!' *koffs*). And Snowe is a wanker. The end.

Graphics: Unfortunately, does NOT suit the game. At times it makes me wince (the Hero being an example,) but damn, I LOVE the character portraits!

Mini-Game; They have the DICE!Game! It is so addictive. I spent way too much time on it.

Overall: It is a bit lackbuster but I'm not going to stop, 'cos d00d! I have a SHIP as a castle! And it CAN only get BETTER! *touches wood*

[EDIT: H4's shorts are liek, really short *koffs* ]

Hmm. That's what a lot of people tend to say, that the plot was lacking, and that really annoys me. But I guess I will eventually play it, cause it is Suikoden, after all. -_- (Let's hope five will be good?)

I'm still hoping it will change. I mean sure, it has been 15 hours but I was taking the slow way (explore first, GameEvents later.) So, it may get better <_< It is not that I'm not enjoying the game, it is just that it doesn't feel like a Suikoden-game yet. And usually, by the 15th hour I'm all 'OMFG!, NEED to KNOW what happens NEXT!!!' (I'm hoping five will be great, and I'm also hoping for the reappearance of previous characters ^_^)

Ha ha, that's what I do. I play my games very very slow because I HATE dying, so I level and level and level. Frankly, five had *better* have some recurring characters. :P If IV is I done over, I hope V is II done over.

*laughs* 95% of the time I just don't die in RPGs ^_^ NOOOO! SuiI was GOOD! There was motive for the actions of McDohl, the problem with H4 is that he had no motive (which makes him a bit of Riou <_<). I'd like V to be II ONLY if they can make a main character that have more personality than a shoe-box. I take that back, I want V to be like III minus Hugo! And MORE military/philosophical discussions *__*

No.. I wasn't insulting SI, I just meant in terms of some of the plot structure. But I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on SII (I thought Riou's lack of motivation made him an interesting character. Besides, I controlled him! I was his GOD! MWahhaha Yes. I would be very sad if there weren't any of that philosophical stuff. And actually when I meant like II, I also meant that "characters from the previous game return in buckets to the point where it loses something if you didn't play SI."

I know :D But I do agree with you on some of the plot structure for I (but only some :p). Yes, we'll have to agree to disagree (but d00d! You might have been God, but Shu still managed to run cricles around you was so the Man Behind In The Shadows... I take that back, Shu like the spot light way too much, I adore the man!) Yes, the buckets of characters, so happy, do you have any idea how many times I went back to that fishing village to get McDohl?! (Obsessed fangirl here.) And Flik and Viktor make me so happy. Though I Ask you, WHAT IS EDGE?! He's like a rent-boy wannabe. How could any kid Viktor brings up DRESS like that?! (The trauma.)

Mmm, I guess II's plot flowed better? (Yes, but God approved very much of Shu even if he did confusingly become not the power behind the throne but the guy always standing in front of it. XD Very, very much Argh, I still need to finish my SII replay so I can use McDohl.

What is Edge? He has "I'm supposed to reappear in the sequel" written all over him. -_-

I think it flowed better because Riou offered no opinions, and from a game persepective I can see why it would be more smooth, but from a character stand point, Riou wasa bit weak (though Nanami Kicked Arse!) And I still think Jowy went about the whole thing in a very stupid way (old news.) (And let's not forget the pomp And the Dramatics. Burning trees, and long speeches. The light appears and the music chages. Wish he was a True Rune holder.</S) Yes you do. McDohl is kind of overly powerful (DeathEater Rune kicks arse!) ... This is indeed a sad marketing ploy, and unfortunately like the sad fangirl I am it will make me happy -_-

Heh. I think it flowed better because the plot was less repetitive? (get rid of one general and recruit him, then the next, oh, we're going to get dragons? WTF?) Riou is a weak character, but that's why he is interesting to me, because of his weakness. Nanami would have been a "better" heroine, though. Oh yes, the drama.

Grah, I now am wondering if the rumours about Suikoden V have any credence to them. -_-

... no comment. I'm laying down the, 'agree to disagree.' :P

Rumours for Suikoden V? Dare I ask? Am I going to be horrible traumatised?Oh, who am I kidding, tell me!

All it was was that someone posted on SuikoHo saying that a Japanese voice actor had posted about working on a Suikoden game and then deleted the reference. It's pretty flimsy, IMHO.
