My weekend was tiring. Spent eight hours studying Finance and twelve straight hours doing my maths assignment. The brain is indeed tired. On the upside I'm pretty much finished with the said assignment, and I figure one more solid-day of Finance and I should be fine.
The really good thing: Played MORE Suikoden 4 from 11pm to 5am (there wasn't much sleep involved this weekend).
I have TED!. Let me just repeat that; I have TED!!! And omfg! What have the English VA done to his VOICE?! The WHINE! I want to take a pillow and smother him. But the bad aside, I have TED! And he ANGSTS! *Gasps* Ted-angst is such a sad and foreign thing. I should have said, 'I want to be your friend!' Rather than ask him to join me. I'm such an idiot. But they do explain Ted's aging, the boy did not lose the Soul Eater, he voluntarily gives it to the Ship Guide, so, he doesn't have to suffer the fate of True Rune bearer. The mind, for some reason, was not expecting that at all, but is still very pleased.
And with Ted, of course, is the Soul Eater Rune.
There are times in a gamer's life when you find one single moment of game play that makes up for the hours of mindless levelling, the hours of frustration at not knowing where to go, and the many hours of game-play down the tube because of not saving. Seeing the Soul Eater Rune was one such moment for me. Seeing it in action practically put me into bliss mode. So, the Rune that governs death and birth, I have been and probably will always be, in awe of the power it wields.
OK. The screeching aside, I found the whole concept of the Ship-Guide fascinating, it does mean that there is more to the suik0 world than what have been revealed in the past three games. We are no longer just bound to the physical Suik0 world; Scarlet Moon, Harmonica, etc. Other planes of existence have been revealed (or at least one plane). The other thing, before the Ship Guide get KO'd by the Soul Eater (I grin like idiot) it screamed about fighting the rune, fighting the chaos. For some reason, I have always thought that the True Runes were a balancing factor in the world, but now it seems that the Runes are an unbalancing influence, or at least a force of chaos. So, what does that say about Yuber and Pesmerga?
Did anyone else think that the Ship Guide was a nod to Cthulu? Or am I seeing things. Oh, and its ship was such a SPACE SHIP design! And a bit of confirmation; was the plane it came from called, ‘Realm of Eternity,’ or something? I have saved over the fight so I can't replay it again in the foreseeable future. Because if it is called something ‘eternal,’ or ‘eternity,’ I get flashes to Michael Moorcock’s Eternal Champion series (more ‘Elric The Eternal Champion’.)
In addition, Leknaat have pretty much confirmed that War is coming, but what kind of war? A War brought on by the True Runes? Or a War brought on by external forces (the same type of creatures as the Ship Guide)? This is all so fascinating.
[I need a Suk0 icon. Maybe I can email one of the Japanese fanart site, and ask for permission to use their art-work for icon purposes.]
