So, the coffee kicks in just when I'm ready to get some sleep. Oh well. There's always an upside. Chapter 37 of Death Note.

The COVER for this chapter need to be seen. Raito in black. Opened shirt and leather pants. Misa in her Lolita-con/Punk Rocker getup, and L looking like a bat from hell except in white and jeans.

OMFG! OMFG! Raito & L. Handcuffed. Together. Till the completion of the case. Yes, handcuffed together 24/7. OMFG! Misa is acting like the Third wheel. Incoherent screaming from this corner. There's plot, but I'm too caught up with a jealous Misa, and the suggestion of a threesome from her AND L. OMFG! It's like doujin EXCEPT not, and it's so much better because of it.

So, fangirl aside, this chapter introduce eight men in suits, of which one have the Death Note in his possession. I can't find my Chinese dictionary, thus I'm not getting a lots of what they are saying. All I know is that they are gathered to discuss the need to kill someone, and that out of the eight of them one of them is a traitor (?). I can be so wrong here. But that aside, I'm getting Illuminati-like vibes from them, except they are more like Yakuza bosses.

Hmm. Need to find the damn dictionary.

Death Note is on crack. The expensive kind. I love this series.

Exactly. My reaction to the whole being handcuffed thing anf Raito's reaction to Misa and L's reaction to Misa, I was like OMFG!! 0_o SQUEE! As far as I'm concerned 'Naruto' is shoujo in disguise. They are so professing their undying love to each other. Stragely enough, PoT (MANGA) for the past while have been strangely shounen and not so cracked as the former too.

Oh well, if things become too much I can always fall back on 'Bleach'.

And YES, the homoerotic undertones is making me squee, but at the same time go 'damn, the creators of DN is amking fun of the fangirls. Cool. I like her. ^__^'

I love it when a mangaka shows us tha tthey are extremely aware of their work's fanbase, and rather than pander to our beliefs they gently mock and poke fun at us and their creations. They are the BEST!!! Yes, there's a definite difference between gently mocking and outright trying to please the fangirls or fanboys.

If nothing else, DN is proving itself to be extremly intelligent and FANGIRL WORTHY! OMFG Misa! MISA! MISA! I'm reminded of Misa being a pre-MS, though I can't remember if it was you or sabina who raised the point first. But yes, I SQUEE!

The strange thing now is that DN, with the team-up brewing, has totally fallen into shounen archetype, a la "Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga." Hero guy, his love interest, and his Destined Rival.

True. Except the Hero may or may not still be a murdering sociopath, the Love Interest is definitely not 100% there, and his Destined Rival is a bit of weirdo.
