flowright, She Who Is Mighty Manga Pimp) is that HYOUTEI will be IN the NATIONALS! becaues they will be HOSTING the EVENT! OMFG! Everyone (Hyoutei is in this chapter).Sakaki and his eyebrows are as Evil looking as ever. Shishido is adorable (hair have gotten spikey-er). Jiroh is ADORABLE! So damn bouncy and cute.
But OMFG! Atobe is WOW! You get the distinct feeling that Ore-sama has been working himself into the ground (he's BUFF!) since his win against Tezuka (and after the match between Sanada and Ochibi the man is motivated). And you get NEKKID Atobe (well in the shower Atobe, but that's almost as good), and wow he have muscles.
And it is proven once and for all that it is the fanBOYS that are the scary ones in the PoT universe. But it is so damn cute that the WHOLE school is behind the Tennis club, and OMFG! Atobe have them well trained. It's so CUTE! Atobe clicked his fingers, and the whole school goes quiet. HYOUTEI is STILL my ALL time FAVOURTIE RIVAL SCHOOL!
It's damn good to be alive. I CAN'T wait till the NATIONALS!

Konomi has so entirely gone over to the fangirls. I had never imagined that there would be this level of fanservice.
The public school uniform. I die, and this is even before I d/l.
Yet, despite turning to the fangirls, he has managed to make Atobe a MAN in this than the anime ever did. A complete and utter Hot Man, but a Man nonetheless. See my intelligence take leave of itself. See!

(Yes! Long coats, coats with buttons, coats with buckles, coats with zippers, coats with those sashes, just nice long coats... and if it's the right type of coat, the addition of a scarf just make it that much better. Freud was a on crack anyway so I'm sure he'd understand).
I think I screwed up being born and living in a warm climate. If you tried to wear a coat here you'd die of heatstroke. XD

I think it was something that Konomi probably thought about when he was drawing the very early matches though it didn't necessarily have to be aimed at Hyoutei. I distinctively remember Konomi commenting that he was really surprised about Hyoutei's popularity. Perhaps he was holding on to this extra card to see what would happen. Historically (shounen sports manga wise), fans ALWAYS like to see re-occurring Rivals (especially the popular and cool ones). It does not take a genius (nor a mangaka high on crack) to bring such a populat team back (HYOUTEI!). So, I'd say he probably decided to bring Hyoutei back after seeing that Hyoutei was so popular.
The beautiful thing about this whole deal is the fact that the Host school having their own team in the tournament even if they did lose does happen in real life! MWAHAHABWAHAHA!
*ahem*
Ever since the rule about the host region getting an extra team was mentioned, I was praying for this. Konomi is such a nice man. *beams*
