So, I started re-watching PoT from ep. 40 or so (after the Yamabuki matches) and I COULDN'T stop! I had forgotten how damn addictive the anime can be (even if I've lost practically all interest in the anime after the Hyotei matches, the manga is another story). So, after watching all the way up to and including the Hyotei matches I ended up bouncing in my seat, proclaiming my love for almost every member of Seigaku of the cast, and making fangirl noises.

Awhile ago I came to the conclusion that almost every member of Seigaku, despite most of their actions, are cunning, cunning beings, and their sense of humour are truly twisted, in other words; evil (no matter how well they hide it). Some wear their Ebilness on the surface (honestly, as if anyone trusted Fuji the first time he was introduced, it's the smile and the closed eyes. We anime/manga fans have been hardwired to react in certain ways against seemingly harmless effeminate looking man), others hide it behind faces of concern, cuteness or glasses. But whatever they do they eventually show a bit of their true nature.

Honest.

Firstly, Fuji is obviously evil, and cunning. It's a fact of life. The sky is blue, the grass is green and Fuji Suyuuske is the Devil Incarnate.

Ryoma, despite a lacking in social skills is as snaky as they come, and his cunning on the court (and sometime off the court) is truly fearsome.

Inui. Anyone who comes up with the juices he makes has to be Evil. And let's not forget the joy he gets when he experiment the juice on others, and how he caused trouble between the Golden Pair for the sole purpose of his own personal amusement (as if we don't know what Hi-mi-tsu really means). Also, Inui did not help the team practice out of the goodness of his heart; he did it so he could collect data on his team mates.

Tezuka has to derive some sort of sick sense of enjoyment out of making the team run laps (100 laps is EVIL).

Momoshiro is not dumb. He just does things without thinking. That's called recklessness and impulsiveness, not stupidity. And his cunning on the court and off the court (in twitching other people's nerves) is an evil, evil tool.

Eiji is EBIL! His cuteness does tend to hide his true nature, but let's all cast our memory back to his manipulation of Kaidoh (poor, poor boy. He never stood a chance).

Oishi is cunning. Don't be fooled by his maternal instincts. The man can manipulate on a grand scale, and his sense of humour has been shown to be more than a bit twisted. If you don't believe me, cast your mind back to the 'Bowling' episode, or the manga version. Or even the setup Tezuka and he cooked up before Tezuka left (in the manga). Yes, see his true nature.

The only true innocents on the team are Taka and Kaidoh, everyone else, as said by the old-woman-in-pink are foxes and racoons, and if we take into account the context she was saying them we can assume that Kaidoh and Taka also falls under that category.

And yes, this entry should be taken with much salt, and lots of beer. Mmmm, beer.

I don't understand PoT fandom's obsession fascination with Fuji and Tezuka, I really don't. Honesty, I see more chemistry and reason for Tezuka and Inui, Tezuka and Ryoma, hell, even Tezuka and Oishi is more apparent to me than Tezuka and Fuji. As for Fuji, the boy seem to have more vibes with Ryoma and Yuuta (this couple doesn't do much for me, but I can see it) then Tezuka.

Having said that, I suppose I can see, in an abstract sort of way, the fascination with the couple, in the sense that Tezuka and Fuji are such shounen-sports manga stereotypes that -do- click in other series, thus, they must click in PoT. That is, the seemingly cold bishounen (who's really a passionate person) will end up with the smiling genius (who's a real cold and ruthless person) suit each other, that they must be sleeping with each other (guilty of this). But for some reason I just don't get vibes for Fuji and Tezuka. Most of the time I avoid the couple like the plague, and have only read a handful of fics about them (and that's usually by authors I stalk).

I get scared by them. I don't understand.

Shishido became so much cooler after the haircut. Before, he came across as a diva, afterwards he became all scruffy and adorable. I remember disliking Shishido on sight, there was just something about him that annoyed me beyond reason, and you won't believe how happy I was when Tachibana kicked his arse ^_^ But oh, when I saw him again I was all SQUEEEEE! The determination, the frown, the SCRUFF! I'm a sucker for the underdog sort of story. And Shishido worked his arse off go get accepted back into the fold of the Hyotei regulars. So, RABU!

And here enters Atobe. I always forget just how cool, and just how much Atobe is suited for leading. He's analytical, confident, and goes out of his way to care for his team (taking back Shishido is a sure sign that he does give a shit about the team, and knows exactly what is going on with the members of his team). Atobe takes his job every seriously. I mean seriously you need to be capable in order to take care of the neurotics he has on his team... actually every captain in PoT need to be capable in order to take care of the nuts on their team.

OMG! I love Fuji, I love, I love, I love. He's so awesome. Damn the anime for making him uke, I dare anyone to not see the seme-vibes of Teh Fuji after this issue. OMG! He's so awesome. But yes, to the actual spoilers, Fuji is fighting playing tennis blind (DAMN you ELF!) because Kirihara (stupid elf) has been aiming at Fuji throughout the match, attempting to do heavy damage to Fuji. As a consequence of being hit by the Elf, Fuji's eyesight is gone. But does that stop Teh Fuji? No, it does NOT! Teh Fuji is awesome, cool and a TENSAI! So, Teh Fuji has evolved to super saiyin another level in his brilliance, as everyone comment on Fuji Suyuuske's hidden skills. Well, most of them sat there disbelievingly as Fuji evolved finding a desire to truly win. In other words Fuji has finally found the motivation to win, and a need to be more than what he already has.

Though NOW I'm -really- worried. I mean this is the perfect time and excuse to let Tezuka re-enter. I mean, Fuji is -blind-, and Tezuka is getting better. *Starts to WORRY*

And I think I'm way too incoherent for this.

I realise this entry is really choppy, and badly written, but if I don't write it down now I'm never going to get it down. So, last words, Teh Fuji is AWESOME. [livejournal.com profile] perseid, you must see this issue. You must! If anyone actually sat through all of that, you deserve a cookie. A big cookie.

[EDIT: Is it my imagination or has my flist gone crazy? Not meant to be rude, it's just that well, everyone seem to be going over the bend (self included). For whatever reasons people are going manic over, good luck on conquering them. And try to eat a good meal!]

Already did, darling. ^^ And any ranting I do will not do it justice, so I shall leave you to it. =P

But I agree with you on all points above - I can't read TezuFuji anymore, tho' Fuji will always be my fave char. And curiously enough, Shishido comes a close second - didn't think much of the arrogant prat earlier, but damn, I have grown to love him a little more.

Haha, and the other arrogant prat - well, Atobe's Atobe. 'Nuff said. ^^

And now that said, I give you crack RikkaixSeigaku pairing: CalicoKitten's latest ficcy on ff.net that I don't remember the title of, but damn, I like it. ^^ And no, I won't tell you who - go see for yourself. =P

You speak of snanada and Oishi. I'll have you know I ranted at her for a very long time on her wonderful description of coffee. And I envy her. I envy her so very much.

Actually, I envy many a people of their writing skillz *grumble*

I adore Shishido, and I'll have to agree with you on Atobe ^^;;; It's the truth.

You are not a TezuFuji fan eitherr? WAHHHHH! HAPPINESS *huggles* Thank you!!! All Anti-TezuFuji fans should unite together and obsess about other couples! Yes, we should!

(and I'm very, very, very, very, very sorry for not commenting on your fics. In my puny self defense I've only discovered you and several other PoT fic writer two days ago, and it usually take me awhile of lurking on someone's lj to feel comfortable enough to comment. That, and I'm *koff* really slack!).
