Random PoT thoughts

  • Jun. 9th, 2004 at 10:31 AM
naanima: (sociopathic)
So, in between taking notes for Legal Framework, I started thinking about PoT, and one question that I've been meaning to ask popped up.

Let's assume that Seigaku wins against Rikkai, does it mean that Rikkai have no chance of entering the Nationals? Didn't Rikkai win the Nationals last year (I really need to check up the detail)? And if that's the case, doesn't it mean Rikkai automatically have a spot in the Nationals? I mean they are seeded as the National Number 1, right?

'Cos you know, I really, really, really WANT Rikkai to win (they want to win for Yukimura, and that's just so much more meaningful than winning for a captain who damaged his shoulder). Or at least makes it to the Nationals. Hell, in my deluded little mind I'm still holding a candle for Fudomine and Hyotei ending up in the Nationals. It doesn't need to make sense (god knows a lots of PoT at times doesn't make sense), I just want it somehow to happen.

My perfect ending for Prince of Tennis would be Seigaku, with Tezuka (left shoulder healed) entering the Nationals. The end.

No, I'm serious. I don't want to see what happens in the Nationals. I just want to know that they made it. And if this is the anime, I want the credit rolling with shots of Seigaku and the other rival schools of what happened after the Nationals.

Yes, they will meet Rikkai again in the Nationals. At least, that's what I remember. ^^

YES!

Now I don't have to feel bad about Rikkai losing against Seigaku (we all know it's going to happen).

*happiness*

*LOL* I think... people kind of forgot that this is the Kantou. Not the Nationals. The Nationals won't just involved the schools participating. There'll also be other singles, doubles, mixed doubles players participating. (Especially if their school didn't make it but they're good enough to make it.) ^___^ Hope this helps.

I know this is Kantou, I just keep on forgetting what sort of elimination system they use to choose which team gets to go to the Nationals.

There'll also be other singles, doubles, mixed doubles players participating.

.... You mean Ore-sama might make it, even if Hyotei lost to Seigaku?

*looks really hopeful*

And yes, this does clarify a few things. *huggles*

I get confused about the seeds, actually, but I think I spoke to Hypertia about this one before. Hyotei's definitely not going to the Nationals, but Fudomine is. I think about five schools from Kantou will be going for the nationals. (In the anime, it's five. In the manga, it's six. I dare say that Jyousei Shounan screwed up a few things.)

Yes, Ore-sama might make it, if he enters as an individual player. (IF I'm not wrong.) That's how the GP managed to get to the Nationals last year, despite Seigaku losing at the Kantou.

*huggles too ^^*

The anime. Bah. I have given up on the anime. And Jyousei Shounan made me -hate- anipuri. That took effort.

So, manga, six schools. Seigaku, Rikkai, Fudomine, Rokkaku, Yamabuki, and Midoriyama (which is purely manga). Okies, now I know ^___^

IF you are not wrong, then I have hope, 'cos let it never be said that Ore-sama doesn't have the ego to enter the Nationals all by himself. As for GP, I was wondering about that for the longest time. See, this is what happens when you only read certain part of the manga, and the rest you watch through anime. You miss important info like this.

*feeds you coffee as sign og love*

P.S. Just commented on 'Starting Over Pt3' And OMFG!!! I LOVE you and AISHU!

Although... Kajimoto looks cute. *stops right there*

I think those are the schools. Not sure about Yamabuki... eh. *can't remember* Midoriyama, definitely.

I think he WILL go on to the Nationals, simply because he can. He was a former Junior champion Selection Camp member too... so... Nah, I don't read much of the manga either. Blame it on my ficcing nature. You tend to dig for random info like this.

*wibbles* *coffee is the best bribe for her*

*LOL*

... good point. He was rather drool worthy, and I did have much inapproriate thoughts *coughs*

I'm sure Yamabuki made it, or at least Sengoku will be at the Nationals. I need to find more information on Midoriyama.

I expecting everyone who went to the Junior Selection Camp to make an appearance ^__^ Ah, the ficcing nature that make all fic writers go hunt for random pieces of information at 4am in the morning ^_^

I understand. I'm living in caffine at the moment. The only thing that's keeping me moving ^^

*coughs too* Well. That's settled, isn't it? Anyway, if you have watched episode 136 (they are dragging out the anime due to popularity) you'll find him there. And all my other favourite characters. Pity that Jin-kun is not around. ;_;

Sengoku went off to train from basics again, at least that's what I remembered. But I think he'll definitely come back. ^^ *knows zilche about Midoriyama*

Hahaha. Right. 4am in the morning.

If you come to my home, you'll be astounded by my supplies. I have coffee (normal), coffee (3-in-1), coffee (decaf) which I don't drink much, coffee (flavoured, instant), assortment of powders and such for making flavoured coffee drinks. And tea. And juice.

I'm living off beverages at the moment. ^^;

Jin-kin... Kijimoto-kun... *nose bleed*

I don't need to tell you how I felt about that particular pairing ^_^

Which is all very shounen manga thing. Yes, I've lost, but I'll be back stronger with my improved new move. See the shiny-ness.

*snickers* Something I've realised about ficcers (having several friends who are high profiled ficcers) is the length they'll go through for a fic. Sleep, bah, food, bah, coffee... okay, they still need the coffee and sugar, but everything else is second place until they have finished the fic. It's sort of cute ^^

I only stock up on coffee beans. It's the cheapest stuff, and I can make it by the gallon. Then, there are the cafes at Uni, which make the best Vienna coffee *drools* Oh, and of course, tea, lots and lots of tea.

It's the best ^__^V (I've gotten back into coca cola)
[identity profile] jennifier-d.livejournal.com wrote:

Akutsu and Kajimoto? O_O That's... *can't find a response suitable*

Yeah. But Sen-kun is already bright (and shiny) enough without his new and improved moves... =__= I swear, sometimes, you just want to smack him with something to make him shut up.

Er. I'll forgo the sleep. Food... what I usually do is write and eat at the same time. Which means, by the time I'm ready to start eating properly again, I've only touched, say, a quarter of my food and everything's cold. Er. Either that, or I'll eat very little in fifteen minutes and suffer indigestion later hahaha.

But coffee. Can't live without coffee. x_x As for coffee beans... I will stock up on them if I have a bloody brewing machine (which I don't). So I find alternatives. LOTS of alternatives. And tea. Tea is good.

I don't like coke, though. <_<

See, it was late, I had too much coffee, and I was watching PoT in random order. Strange things happen when you are on caffine and little sleep.

God yes. I love Sen-kun, but I'd not say anything if someone stuff a tennis ball down his throat to shut him up.

Not that way, you perv.

Someone should do a study on the dietry habits of fic writers when they are intensely involved in writing a new fic. It'll be a interesting read. Hell, they should mark how much coffee, or sugar they consume during that time.

I can't function without coffee. The end. Tea is my friend, I drink two liters of it a day, and then I move on to the coffee. Then, I feel like I'm human again.

AH-HA. That's why I thought you didn't like coffee. I got it confused with your dislike of coke.

[identity profile] jennifier-d.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:21 pm (UTC)
Ugh. *brain scarred* Don't mind me. *slaps Jin-kun with an armful of Sen-kun to make herself feel more normal*

WHAT WAY? I'M NOT THINKING OF ANYTHING PERVERTED I SWEAR.

coffee = a lot. sugar = a lot more. Heh. Sugar makes me HAPPY. A HAPPY fanfic author is vital for a good fic, yanno. (Either that, or so severely depressed that everything she writes comes out depressing.)

I don't drink 2 litres of tea, I think. Maybe one and a half. ^^; Coffee is no more than 3 cups a day. Heard that it can causes sterility. I still want kids. So my alternative (after hitting my quota for coffee) is tea. ^^

^^ Don't drink coke unless I have no choice.
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:27 pm (UTC)
Ohhhh, Jin and Sen-kun is fine ^__^

Of course. And DeNile is just a river in Egypt.

I noticed that. Depressed, or truly pissed fic authors are vindictive, and evil, evil, evil.

I forcefully stop myself at two cups of coffee a day (but considering, that they are Grande sized, it's a bit hard to measure). I want kids too, must move onto tea.

It's like me and Decaf, if there's nothing else I'll drink it.
[identity profile] jennifier-d.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:33 pm (UTC)
*LOL*

Oh, right. Almost forgot about the pissed off bit. *has written more than one fic under that condition, and all of them are scary*

Grande size? O_O I drink uhm, normal mug size? Which will probably equal to half a mug of Tall, I guess. But if I'm out, Grande is what I'll drink. ^^ (You notice that all those coffee suckers drink Grande size at cafes.)

hahhaha... I drink decaf when there's nothing to drink. Yes. But I'll rather drink decaf than coke. <_<
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:38 pm (UTC)
I can imageine.I try not to guess about the fic writer's mental state when they wrote the fic. It'll only hurt.

Yep. The cafe at Uni have regular, large and Grande. Grande sized coffee doesn't have a mug, they move straight to the Tall paper cups. Large fits one of those large mugs.

I'll choose coke before decaf. Unless we are talking about cherry coke and vanilla coke. In which case I run to the decaf, and burn the cherry and vanilla.
[identity profile] jennifier-d.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:43 pm (UTC)
Eheh. But... very few things piss me off nowadays. And watch me. I'll only jinx myself.

Wah. My coffee mud if probably regular. I have a Grande-size mug, but I only use that for hot cocao. ^-^

Haha. I drink sprite though (sometimes) and that one has caffeine as well. It's not that I really hate coke. I just don't like gassy drinks in general.

Oh darling, you just did. I'm work under the belief that if I'm happy now, I"m not going to be in two weeks times. Karma, or just hormones.

Peanut chocolate is a wonderful drink. Yes, it is.

The only none caffinenated drink I like is Mountain Dew. Or sometime known as 'Crab Juice' (and I still haven't figured out why it's called crab juice yet).
[identity profile] jennifier-d.livejournal.com wrote:

Right. Right. I guess I should feel happy about it or something. =__=

O_o Peanut chocolate? I like hot chocolate on its own just fine thank you. ^^

O_o I drink tea? And ocha? Er?

If not happy, at least be, uh, content in the knowledge that you know it's coming ^^;;;

No, no, no. You don't understand. Peanut chocolate is far superior than normal chocolate drink. You must try it sometime. IT's really yummy.

^^;;; I think Mountain Dew is an Australian (and possibly American) thing.

And I'd love to talk, but I need to get back to study. It was great talking to you *huggles* But I have to go *huggles somemore*

And try the Peanut Chocolate. It's wonderful. Honest. Seeya.

yup, i think anipuri already showed us how this works: rikkai and seigaku are just fighting for first and second place in the kantou regional finals. so whatever happens, they're both getting into the nationals :)

afaik, too, hyoutei was eliminated, but i thought fudomine IS going to the nationals...? i could be wrong, though i always thought that defeat by rikkai at kantou doesn't mean they were eliminated, just taken out of the running for gold and silver... (needs clarification too)
[identity profile] morinotokei.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 08:51 pm (UTC)
Now you got me all curious too, because I could swear that Fudoumine was still in the running, as were Rokkaku. Or am I just delusional? XD; I know Sengoku will be participating, but is all of Yamabuki attending as well? *confused, confused*
[identity profile] muzivitch.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 08:55 pm (UTC)
I think you're right...Fudomine and Rokkaku will both be going to Nationals as well, and Yamabuki is one of the consolation teams - Midoriyama is the other one, in the manga, but since they were nonexistant in the anime, I can only hypothesize that the other team might be Jyousei Shounen? I am certain the Hyoutei has been completely eliminated. Unfortunately.
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 09:32 pm (UTC)
Yes. That's the important thing, as long as Fudomine makes it, all is well with the world.

Jyousei Shounen. I'm so glad I have stopped following the anime. As long as the manga doesn't screw up I'm okay. Though, I still think Hyotei could've kicked Yamabuki's ass (less Akutsu). Not too sure about Rokkaku's ability, that's one area of the manga I still haven't had the chance to check yet.

I'm pretty sure you are right about Hyotei. Oh well, I'll just have to keep on stalking reading your lj for Atobe fics ^^;;
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 09:37 pm (UTC)
There's pretty much full agreement that Fudomine is going to the Nationals, as well as Yamabuki and Rokkaku. And of course both Seigaku and Rikkai will be going, whether they lose at Kantou or not.

Practically all my fav teams will be appearing again. I'm sooooo happy. *squee*

(too bad about Hyotei).
[identity profile] morinotokei.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:11 pm (UTC)
If only they switched Midoriyama for Hyoutei. But then again, the competition would probably drive me insane during the Nationals. Not that it won't already. >.>

OMG! Can you imagine ALL your favourite characters and Teams in the SAME place, at the SAME TIME!!!

I can't wait. The ego, the jokes, the sheer presence. Wahhhhhh. Happy fangirl.
[identity profile] morinotokei.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:26 pm (UTC)
*cackles* That...is a lot of characters, for me anyway. I have favorites from just about every team, even if Rikkai is my current love. But yes, very happy fangirl if Konomi decides to flesh out a lot of the characters during the Nationals. *will not get hopes up...wah*
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:35 pm (UTC)
It is a lots of characters. I have at least two favourite characters from all the teams. And that's just scary, if they all make it. Though, it would support me in my yaoi fantasies *cough*

It's hard not to get one's hope up. Yes, it is. I'll worship forever if he decide to flesh the characters out. Yes, I will.
[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com wrote:

I am curious, though, why is it that for the manga you don't want to see what happens at Nationals? I'm rabidly curious about Nationals. In fact, I do sorta wish that they would hurry up and finish the current match (which, however, will probably end up being *even longer* than the last one. :P), so that we can see what the other teams at Nationals are like.

(I also find Midoriyama entirely boring, and more importantly, they (apparently) are sucky, and Yamabuki vaguely wasteful because they only have one important current player.)
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 9th, 2004 02:06 am (UTC)
Because of fear. I have this morbid fear that Ryouma is going to win against Sanada. And that, that just doesn't make sense because dammit, if Ryouma can't beat Tezuka there shouldn't be a chance in hell as to why he should be able to beat Sanada.

I know, petty, but dammit, Sanada should win, and Ryouma, despite being the hero, just shouldn't win (at least not without a damn good reason). Unless, he suddenly went all Fuji-like. But even then it doesn't make sense *sigh* Just one of those things that really get me peeved.

But yes, I REALLY want to see the other teamsin the Nationals ^^

(I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can't for the life of me remember if I read the issues with Midoriyama in it, or if I just skipped them all together. And Yamabuki with Akutsu gone only have Sengoku left. Though there's hope that the other members might get some more spot light, the captain of Yamabuki seemed mildly interesting. I can always hope ^_^).

[identity profile] worldserpent.livejournal.com wrote:
Jun. 9th, 2004 02:34 am (UTC)
Well, before worrying, shouldn't we just wait and see? Maybe if Sanada loses, Konomi sensei will suddenly intro the Real Final Bosses (as nonsensical as this might be.... I don't think at this point Fudomine can be the Final Bosses, and Yamabuki is just too boring)

(You don't have to worry. Nothing happened in the Midoriyama ones except for some slight Nanjiroh character development. Basically Seigaku smashed them. I don't know if there's much hope left for Yamabuki without Akutsu, seeing that battles also seem to be fought on interesting-ness as well as actual tennis skill. Unlucky Sengoku can only do so much. :P )
