SPN notes

naanima: ([SPN] J2 snooze)
I have been up since 4am this morning; my insomnia has kicked into overdrive. Did work, read a copious amount of SPN fics, and avoided spoilers like the plague. On other news - I have dad fully addicted to Supernatural. After watching series 1, dad had many words of wisdom.

On the subject of Dean: "I like him. A very good older brother and he's handsome without looking like a girl, like that pasty actor in that film with people in suits and sun-glasses." [Dad has disliked Keanu Reeves ever since he saw The Matrix, he thinks Neo is the biggest Girl to have ever walked this Earth. This is despite liking the guy for years because of Speed. Also, dad is the oldest of four children so he was going to like Dean on principle alone - Dean made dad laugh, which pretty nailed it for Dad].

On the subject of Sam: "What a smart young man, not just academic-smart but very dangerous-smart." [Dad's a bit mixed up about Sam, he's all for Sam going off on his own, because that's what young guys do, but the whole not contacting the family, dad was not too impressed by that].

Oh, and dad's reaction to the ending of season1 was hilarious:

Dad [as the three Winchester drives away]: "That's a nice ending."
Dad [2-mins later, the scene that left the fandom screaming]: "What? That was the worst ending ever!"
Dad [an hour later]: "You have season 2, right?"

In addition, while watching/listening to MythBusters (I was focusing more on the email that I was typing than actually watching the show):

Voice-over: "And the team test .... Winchester."
    Me: "Where?! ... Oh."

Me dork.

Ahaha your dad ownz. My father made me laugh when towards the end of the Fellowship of the Ring, he was thinking it would be pretty shoddy storytelling if Frodo reached the mountain and chucked in the ring, in the last half-hour. It was only after the film ended that we told him it was one of a trilogy, and he was disgusted - said he would never have bothered watching if he had known. ^^

My dad is awesome - we both agree that mum would watch Supernatural if she actually understand English, mainly because she thinks Jensen Ackles is hot. As for the 'Fellowship' - ahahahahaha! But you know, many a people felt the same about Pirates of the Caribbean 2, though, I LOVED it MUCHLY!

RE: SPN
OT - Why that acronym?
Damn, why doesn't my mom love this *sigh* she usually loves supernatural based series on principle.

RE: MythBusters
Dad just discovered this, I think the jellyfish episode didn't go down well with parents. They were both commenting on how common sense it was to use alcohol over stings.

RE: PotC I/II/III
Interested in 3?

Because SN is used for Saturday Night (or something or other), and for some reason the Supernatural fandom use SPN at a universal level.

How much of it has she seen? Maybe it is the lack of the melodrama-love angle?

RE:MythBusters - d00d, get them to see some other episodes, the ones where they blow things up ^_^V

RE: Yes, interested in 3 - though it it pretty much not going to happen this week. Next week? (Actually, when is it out?)
