Well, it sure is different from last year's season finale.

I pretty much started squeeing as soon as the preview begun because they used WAYWARD SON again - it is like, the BESTEST song ever in relation to SPN. I did also start cringing because they showed the Cross road Demon, and since BUABS, I have begun to take EXTRA notice of the previews. They always reveal something about the series, and since the only possible wish I can think of Dean making is to get Sammy back, well, yeah - I was very twitchy.

Loved the first half - EmoDean and the whole deal scene with the Crossroad Demon (um, the actress did not hit any of my buttons, I found her kind of ugly). The kiss was hot, and now I'm craving some proper Dean and Chick sex, because if they can push the tension that much with a kiss I'm all for Dean getting some for season 3.

Second half - things seemed, um, easy I suppose. For some reason the tension for the second half kept on getting interrupted for me, and I honestly can't tell you why.

Sam shooting Jake stunned me a bit because he looked as if he enjoyed it a bit too much.

I do think the Demon was messing with Dean about bringing Sam back wrong, though the explanation about keeping Dean alive - weak man, really really weak.

John appearing made me happy - Dean and Sam needed that closure.

The effect for the bullet was awesome. The death of the Demon just didn't have enough impact for me to truly believe in it.

The whole last 5 minutes made me very happy because they are not going to lose the personal angle of their journey. They have had their vengeance and now it is all about saving Dean - he's so going to use "I only have one year to live," as a pick up line. Loved the ways the last scene mirrored the last scene of the pilot.

Overall - I liked it, I really do, I just- *wild hand gestures*. It is the pacing of the episode, I suspect I'll need to watch part 1 and 2 of AHBL before I can finalise my view about the episode. Everything just felt a bit too easy with the Demon, and that's making me slightly unsatisfied.

Sam kept the secret about Mary from Dean. Hmm, interesting.

Bobby is awesome, gods, he must love the boys as if they are his own.

I just don't think it is over - there's still a Demonic army out there, and they still need a leader. Sam would turn every rock on Earth in order to save Dean, and you know, when he shot Jake - not so much about his own death as much as Dean's death. Sam is not stupid, he would have figured out that he died, and of course Dean would have made a deal.

Also, the way Sam just left the DOOR OF HELL to save his brother, NO thoughts of anything else, just save his brother. That is both awesome and so fucking scary.

And - Samuel Colt with the RAILWAY TRACKS OF DEVIL TRAP! That is just AWESOME!

And, and and - There is a Demonic Army out there (the world can still end), Dean have one year of life, and Sam maybe Evil, however, this is a HAPPY ENDING!!! Oh, only you, Supernatural.
