Azazel! Azazel! Azazel! Azazel!

What? I'm really excited that canon confirmed the YED's official name, something that fanon has guessed way back in September last year. Gods, we have some awesomely smart fans for our show.

The whole concept of humans falling into sin when provided with the way and the means is absolutely brilliant because it is true. I can't view humanity, on the whole, as the pinnacle of morals and ethics, not when genocides are still being practiced today. If given the chance to commit murder and torture with no consequences most of us would it. But that's why when heroes appear, when someone does the true altruistic thing my heart brims with happiness, because it means we, as a species still have hope.

Moving on - Casey, the demon lady, and the demon in the priest; I'm still sort of numb from the revelation that they just wanted to live in peace. Not going out of their way to hurt other people or cause mayhem. They settled down, and wanted only to be together. Well, SPN managed to do something in 40mins that Buffy took several seasons to do - make demons seem humane.

The conversation between Casey and Dean is something that makes me breathless with all the implications and revelations. Yes, YED is Azazel, he whose punishment was the most severe as he gave the most knowledge to humanity. I love that there are so many different factions amongst the escaped demons, and now that the tyrant is gone they are gunning for the next in line - Samuel. So, the question is now - why is Sam so damn important, just what other abilities does he have? Because from where I'm standing a human, no matter how smart, is still a human, and a demonic is not just about to follow a meat suit.

"Out, in front of the pack" SAM = KING!

Sam = Brother's Keeper = Cain. Um, WHAT? I MEAN, WHAT?! Oh gods, please don't tell me Sam is going to kill Dean, because honestly, that's just too biblical for me, and also, it doesn't match because Dean is the oldest... though Dean did sacrifice his life for the greater good (and to save Sam), and - ARGH! NO! Bad thoughts!

The Colt is working now, but the implication of Ruby's words seem to be that killing the Crossroad demon won't necessarily release Dean from the deal. If this is true - man, it would be the most awesome of things, especially if Sam kill the demon anyway.

One other thing - Demonic religion is awesome. The idea that the have their own hopes and dreams, and their own prophecies - I am over the moon with happy SQUEE! I love how no demons has seen Lucifer before, that in many ways he is the equivalent of God to humans. That when it comes down to it it is all about personal faith, demons or humans.

On what I hope/wish will happen in the new arc - Sam to be the vessel for Lucifer (probably not but fun to think about), or for Sam to become the kickass Boy!King that he's mean to be. For everything that has happened to somehow link back to Mary, and that it was never about the Winchesters so much as about Mary and what she did to her second born. Gods, I want the mythos of SPN to be fulfilling.

I hear next week is going to be hilarious. NB: I’m currently completely unspoiled for this season, I want to see how long I can keep this up.
