I will make the tag, for it is kind of awesome.

Also, look on the bright side, at least I didn't post about my period this month. Yay!

Your icon is so appropriate! XD But I find waxing is less painful in general. There's been this general rash of waxing salons sprouting up in Singapore, so I guess either this generation of womanhood are made of iron or it really does get less painful on repeat sessions.

The icon makes up for much of the pain and angst. :D The idea of having wax anywhere near my bikini line area freaks me out at a fundamental level, same with shaving and those cream with the noxious chemicals, hence, the epilator. I suspect it is a bit of column A and bit of column B. This generation of women must have very high pain tolerance and they probably get use to the PAIN on repeat sessions.

I don't like epilatiors. They are evil things. You have my sympathies, and I will stick to razors for everything but my face -- which I lazed, rar!

The thought of a razor anywhere near my bikini line (or anywhere else near me for that matter) freaks me out at a fundamental level. I'm serously contemplating the lazer option for my face.

Q - is the lazer painful?

Oh, for the soft, squishy bits (or, rather, the furry parts nearby), I use my spouse's old electrical razor's beard-trimmer attachment. I occasionally nick myself, but not very painfully.

The laser zap is painful. It's... Hm. They talk about a rubber-band "snap" feeling. It's a little more, in my opinion, like you suddenly get a flash of sunburn all at once. It STINGS. However, it's over pretty quickly. The amount of sting depends on 2 things: first, how much (dark) hair is in the area, because that absorbs the heat, and secondly, how much the nerves are collected. It hurts worse on my upper lip (though there's less dark hair) than on my chin (which had a damned Shaggy goatee), for instance.

The laser treatment lasts many weeks, though, and after 4-5 of them, it seems to be having a lasting effect on many of the little buggers.

Um, me thinks I'll stick with the epilator, wax strips and pliers.

You are a brave brave lady.

*giggle* I've tried an epilator, though, and it huuuuuurrrrrrts. It's not "ZAP! okay, done," either. It's "hai! i be rippin' ur hairz out! an agin! an agin! ha ha ha!"

Mind, I haven't had more than my face zapped, yet. I'm sort of pondering whether it might be useful to zap my legs (I'm so nearsighted and hate shaving them) or under my arms. Or other areas, though it'd be tricky -- it targets dark stuff, right? I had a little dark freckle/flat mole on my chin, and of a sudden I discovered... it was GONE! Zapped away, just like the dark hairs!

I am not sure I want to be zappin' around, say, chest areas that have darker pigmentation. >_>

It is kind of funny but I think I'm sort of in love with my epilator (I used it again yesterday for my legs). I love how there is no preparation needed, the speed of which it gets the job done, and that my body get over the pain in about 5 minutes or less. But yes, I can see why it would be an expereince many an individual would not want to repeat.
