So, I have been thinking about this since Sunday night and I just need to write it down before I forget. RTD has a history of doing the red herring and so forth, but he has always laid the groundwork for major events.


Donna so far has been called ‘temp’, ‘new’, ‘temporary’ and variations of the same theme. She’s different, she shouldn’t exist, and she bends time and universes around her. Rose tells her she’ll die, the Shadow Proclamation person spoke of her implied death, River doesn’t remember her, and so forth. The most loyal companion of the Doctor will die, you will be happy that I don’t think any of humanoids companion will die because they are not the Doctor’s most loyal companion. The Doctor’s most loyal has always been the TARDIS.

I think, I think that the TARDIS will die, and I think Donna will be changed into the TARDIS because I have this insane theory that Donna was created by the TARDIS!Rose when she saw the all of time, and she knew that she/it/they will die, and that the Doctor will be alone. To protect the Doctor, to make sure he will be save I think the TARDIS!Rose created Donna at that moment to become the new TARDIS. It would explain all the comments about Donna being special and new and temporary, that she is only a stop-gap before she becomes the new TARDIS.

As for wild theories, this one is pretty out there, but I’m going to stick with it until the season final tells me otherwise.
