I know I should watch episodes 6 & 7 before episode 8 but megaupload only allows me to download one episode a day, and episode 8 was something I really wanted to see.

This was rather serious, and smart writers for laying down the ground-work for future storylines.

1. Oh Merlin, gods, how I love you in this showing signs of what you will be. But letting Mordred live, you are only going to live to regret it. I find it absolutely fascinating that Merlin would have let Mordred die if it meant Arthur would survive. Hell, I think he would have let the boy die if Arthur wasn’t with him.

2. Morgana, you are all kind of awesome. Merlin and Morgana are awesome together, just awesome. Brave, compassionate and so very leader-like! It is also absolutely fascinating the way Morgana feels so close to Mordred. Perhaps the first sign of wha the future may hold for Morgana.

3. Mordred, the child is creepy and very very terrifying.

4. Uther, Uther, Uther, you are a very scary and ruthless man. His hand to Morgana's neck was scary, and his rage at Morgana near the end was terrifying.

5. It is interesting how betrayal seem to be theme of the episode; Morgana betraying Uther, Merlin betraying Arthur, and Arthur betraying Uther.

6. And thus Arthur ensures his own death by letting Mordred live, Morgana will inevitably betray Arthur for Mordred, and Merlin can only watch as his destiny come crashing down on him.

I'm not saying that I don't like the inevitability of doom, but god dammit, this is my happy place. I need them to be happy and not doom. Now I go in search of au/future!fics.

Also, EMRYS! As in MYRDDIN EMRYS , the Prophet and Magician. OMFG! OMFG!
