naanima: ([SPN] Ava on coca cola and suicide)
No more livejournal at work. Oh, well.

I have this habit of writing LJ entries, especially long entries, off and on over a period of days. This often means I end up starting a meta post about something and I don’t finish it till several weeks later or forget about it completely. As I was backing up my files today I discovered a season 4 SPN meta entry dated a few months ago that was never finished. While events have gone in the direction I have predicted it has done so in a manner that I didn’t foresee. So, I’m pretty much watching season 4 as opposed to meta-ing about it every second post. However, as we are in the last leg of this season I thought I might as well write down a few predictions and some half-assed meta about the characters and the ending of season 4.

  • Dean is the Second Coming. The whole thing would be poetic justice and really awesome plot symmetry. Also, the fact that the End of the World appear to be more on Dean’s shoulders than Sam’s is making me want to put my bet on Dean, in whatever capacity he may operate under.

  • Ruby is Meg. This is a new concept, actually I only thought of this after 416. The little smirk on her face as Sam drank her blood was just too reminiscent of Meg for my own comfort. This is bad because my whole SPN bigbang has been scrapped.

  • SPN!God is playing hooky (like Dogma’s God) and someone is impersonating it (not enough angels have seen SPN!God, this is just slightly suspicious), or SPN!God is a down-right bastard who only wants to win at all cost. I can’t really decide on which yet.
    - a) Actually what would be hilarious is if Dean is SPN!God playing hooky. I would die laughing if this is the case.
    - b) If SPN!God is an uncaring bastard (ala Preacher!God) then I want Dean and Sam to kill it. The whole thing is a bit nihilistic but seriously the point of SPN, or it was, ordinary people fighting for the greater good because it is the right thing to do.

  • Castiel will choose Dean. The end.
    - a) Except it really isn’t that simple is it? Castiel will more than likely die because SPN can rack up a pretty high body count. The question is will he stay dead? Are we going to see a lovey-dovey God who works in mysterious and forgiving ways, or is Kripke really a nihilist?

  • Bobby is going to die, because I think it makes sense, plot and theme wise. For the past 4 seasons the boys have had their support stripped away one-by-one (or more). The viewer is told over and over again, in all the show’s anvilious ways, that it is all about SamandDean, it only makes sense to remove the last human support the boys have. By removing Bobby you are making them truly alone. It is the Winchesters against the World once more, though I wonder if the possible death of Bobby will lead to a case of Winchester vs. Winchester. In addition, if you think about it Bobby not longer serves a purpose in regards to the plot or the boys. SamandDean is a bit beyond the help of simple-but-awesome-Bobby.

  • Sam and Dean on opposite side because Sam is becoming too much of an addict and Dean is becoming too much of a fatalist.

  • Sam turning up to be ‘good’ despite the demonic blood, perhaps in season 4. Because sometime you need somebody with the same abilities as the bad guys to take them down.

  • Lilith chew off too much than she can handle. Sam will have her head on a platter, bloody.

  • The season ending is going to kill all of us; Bobby dead, Sam becoming the Big Bad, and Dean all mopey or vengeful. It is hard to say.

That was fun!

In regards to The Sarah Connor Chronicles... please don’t spoil me, I waiting for the last 2 episodes to be released before I watch all 3 episodes in a row.

Oh, good God, I was DRINKING as I was reading that. I was extremely close to spit water all over my monitor.
It would be hilarious if Dean was God! SERIOUSLY HILARIOUS.

Isn't it just? As I was typing away that point I realised that the idea of Dean as God is like pure COMEDY GOLD! I would PAY to see this! Except I doubt it will ever happen anywhere but in my brain.

*SAD sigh*.

I'm sort of in love with the idea of all the jokes Dean would make once he's gotten used to the idea.

"Oh, thank God!"
"That's my name, don't wear it out."
"Dude, shut up."
"Blasphemer!"

AHAHAHAHA!

"Dude, Jesus was my son!"
"Do you think I can turn water into beer? I mean Jesus did."

Hi, i found this post on heavymeta. I like your theories, you put it all out there so clearly. I have to agree that it seems like Bobby is going to end up dead, and Sam is set up as Lucifer. I never really occurred to me that Dean is the second coming but it makes sense and the symmetry is just lovely. It seems like the writers have flat out said that Sam is going dark side, but the never give any definite answers on what the heck Dean is supposed to be, just that he's "the only one who can stop the apocalypse." Vague much? It seems like every episode has a scene with Dean asking what they actually want him to do, and the angels are all "i don't know, something big?" I want some answers. Whoa that was a long comment, sorry bout that. Anyways loved your post.

The vague-ness of Dean saving the world is just, well, vague. I mean the obvious thing would be for Dean to stop Sam in order to stop the Apocalypse, but is it really going to be that easy?

Don't worry, I love long comments, and it is always nice to meet another fan.

here via heavymeta
I think you're spot on with a lot of this. Bobby, I'm very afraid, is Marked for Death...and yeah, his death is going to be the catalyst for either Sam vs. Dean, or the resolution and coming together of the boys after Sam vs. Dean.

Also agree that Sam's going to have Lilith's head, and that he's going to turn out to be good in the end.

I think S4 is going to end with the boys just having resolved their conflict, but failing to save the final seal (possibly because one of them has refused to kill the other at the very last moment). And the Big Bad is going to rise. That's the cliffie we'll be left with over the summer.

I hope! Because really, all of that sounds pretty freaking AWESOME!! :)

Re: here via heavymeta
I like Bobby, but it just doesn't make sense to keep him around anymore, at least from a plot POV.

I want to see Sam and Dean attempt to kick each other's ass, have Sam win the fight but choosing Dean above everybody at the end because if nothing else the Winchesters knows the bonds of blood.

Ohhh, I like your theory! See, my take on the whole thing is that they resolve their issues, and then the fianl seal breaks, which lead to Sam becoming Lucifer, and then we shall see the fall out in s5.

End of s4 is going to be Epic!

So... if after ep 18, if Lucifer is caged. And we're talking about the ultimate balance of the world. Then shouldn't God be the same? Considering having 1 side keeping it's highest power creates in-balance in the kosmos X'D

This could explain much. Yet, it could be all so disturbing with Dean as god.
