I would give up every single show I am currently watching in order to see a third season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Yes, EVERY. SINGLE. SHOW. That means I’ll happily see cancellation slips for Supernatural, Doctor Who and any other show because TSCC needs a third season like I need to eat and breathe. Gods, this show is one of the most amazing series ever to have been created, if it doesn’t get renewed I’m going to sob until I can’t sob anymore. (Except what if it sucks. Oh gods, what if they get a season 3 and I’m left horribly disappointed. CONFLICTED.)

Cameron; from what I observed, Cameron truly loves John, she loves him in her own way, and when Ellison delivered his message to her I think she freaked out. Because her mission, her main mission, above protecting John Connor, is to deliver her chip to John Henry. Cameron is special, she is unique and different from the other models; she can eat, she can learn, and she can adapt and change until she feels. Cameron have a soul, or at least what humans interpret as a soul, and her mission is deliver all she had learned, all she has experienced to John Henry, the end goal, God or Cain? Because John Henry save humanity, but he, it can only save humanity when it determines it worthy, and you can’t accept something as worthy until you can understand and love it. Cameron understands and Cameron loves, or at least Cameron loves John Connor, and Cameron’s main mission is perhaps to experience as much as she can and pass it onto John Henry, that is, pass to him her experiences, all the memories of humanity. But Cameron will have to end; Cameron will need to leave John Connor in order to complete her mission. Cameron is sorry for leaving John.

The ending; John Connor in a future where no one knows him. John Connor is not the Saviour of mankind, but is that true? Just how far in the future did John Connor travel? Can destiny be changed? Who says John Connor won’t still be the Saviour of Mankind, just a few decades later. After all, John Connor is still John Connor, he still has the knowledge and the skills, and the most important of all; he is Sarah Connor’s son.

It is an interesting point to end the series; at first I thought John Connor has arrived at a point where he is redundant, that he is no longer the Saviour of Mankind. However, as the partner said, there is nothing saying John Connor isn’t going to save the rest of humanity by bringing about peace between the machines and humanity. Just because he is a decade or 2 into the future doesn’t mean the big plot points change. That is, every flash back scene we have seen of John Connor from Derek’s POV can still happen, perhaps all that has changed is a younger John Connor making the decisions. Perhaps John still ends up the leader of the Resistance, still sends Kyle Reese back into the past to meet Sarah Connor, still sends Alison to die so that Cameron can live, and still sends Derek into the past to teach John Connor the true cost of the future. The point is, we don’t know. Just what will a John Connor without the need to be Saviour do?

Also, John Henry; where did he go? The future or the past, with Cameron’s chip in his hands. Ohh, the possibilities.

I may have died a bit inside at Derek’s death, the complete and utter senseless of it, oh gods, poor, brave, broken Derek. But then he lives, and I’m suddenly YAY!

Weaver, Ellison, Savanah and John Henry is probably more healthy as a family than the Connors. The fighting-parents vibes I got from them were hilarious.

John’s expression on seeing Derek, Kyle and then Alison. Oh gods, talk about heartbreaking expression. The boy can pull off the emotionally devastate look better than Jensen Ackles.
Also, BEST allegory for sex, EVER. Made all the more creepy by having the scene framed exactly like the scene between Sarah and John during the first episode of the series. Creepy.

In conclusion; WHERE IS THE FANFICTION?! WHERE?!

Sarah lets John go, because Sarah cannot keep John. Sarah can’t protect John anymore, not when she may be sick herself, not when there is no one left she can trust to protect John. She can’t trust humans (they die so easily, broken and ended), she can’t trust the machines (they can betray so easily, they took her life, her love and her future), and she can’t trust in God (God has let the world burn and the children die). But she can trust John, not because John is the saviour of mankind, but because John Connor is so brave, because John Connor is the single undeletable point in Sarah’s life, because John is her son. John is her fears, her love, and her dreams and wishes for a future that eludes her. Sarah trust John Connor.

I love Sarah Connor. I have loved her for over 20 years because Sarah Connor is everything I want to be; courage in the face of fear.
