Firefly

Saw the first episode of Firefly; I can see why there are so many fans of the series. Good pilot episode; engaging, fun, and enough back story to make it interesting. I could see both Joss Whedon and Tim Minnear’s influence from a mile away. It is both the language and the way the characters are depicted. There are imprints of both creators all over Mal.

Will watch more later. Now I sleep.

ETA: The horribly mangled Chinese (I’m assuming it is meant to be Mandarin because some of the words they are attempting to pronounce are definitely not Cantonese) is quite endearing. Beside, the intention if not the exact meaning behind the words is perfectly understood.

Yep, saw the first episode, the one with Simon, River and Book being introduced onto Serenity. Very solid episode.

How about Saturday? I have got assignment meetings and work related meetings for the rest of this week but I'll be free most of Saturday... I need to turn up to JAFWA around 7Pm in the evening so we can see each other during the day!

P.S. Can you recommend any j-drama? Saw 'Pride' and was very disappointed. Anything that doesn't have romance is good for me!

Half the appeal of Firefly was the kick I got out of trying to decipher what they were actually saying. ^^ I adore this series, and curse FOX for axing it.

Mostly I got with body language though once in awhile my ears would be like 'OMFG!
