reality television?

I can finally appreciate shows like The Apprentice now. There’s just something about the human nature that makes us rub our hands in glee when the strong and the smooth cracks under pressure. Or maybe it is just me *cackles madly*.

To give you a very brief run-down, for the past few months I have been involved in the planning and the implementation of a competition very similar to The Apprentice (minus Donald Trump). The amount of young and talented individuals I have met in the past 2 weeks is absolutely sickening. In fact there’s one that is just perfect; cool under pressure, polite, approachable and knows when to back down and when to take action. Normally I’d admire and consider him to be awesome, but as it is all I can think about is him cracking under the pressure of the next few days and reminding myself to bring pop corn. It is just fascinating when they do inevitably crack under the pressure of performing at their peak without a break for 4 days straight, and being grilled on a nightly basis by judges who are evil.

As it is, one team have already done something that was morally wrong (though legally they were sound), another team have unanimously kicked a member off and lost one other for personal reasons. Accusations of cheating and copying content have been flying right and left, and all I can think about is; this is so fun.

Now I head back to work.

Haha, that is rather insane. It's like watching a screwed up shounen manga iRL or something?

OMFG! I'm NOT going to be able to moderate the team with a straight face now!

BTW it means that yes, it is almost like watching a screwed up shounen manga in iRL... minus the fighting. There is pathos, there is backstabbing, there is the Honourable one, the AMORAL one, and more than that there is a great teamwork with a LOTS of in-fighting! EVERY Shounen series need some form of in-fighting, or at least unrest.

It has been very entertaining.

Well, you can always narrate in that portentuous kind of way popular in shounen. XD

Well, not all shounen needs to have overt fighting, like in Yakitate or DN. (Have you read Yakitate? I think you'd really like it. )

... They'd possibly skin me alive, though some of them may laugh till they burst something important... which is kind of funny in the first place *giggles*.

I love Yakitate, it makes the crack in my life seem like child's play. In other words, Yakitate provide the crack in my life.
