No fear! In Korean it is called Goong, and in English, translated as 'The Palace.' ^_^

(I watched about half, but gave up because I liked Yun better than Shin. This is always happening to me with Korean dramas... This is why I am currently dabbling in Chinese drama, haha).

YES! BTW: In Chinese Goong also means "Palace" that's why there was some initial confusion my part when mum first introduced me to it ^_^.

(NOOOO! It gets better. Honest. I got all sniffly, it is all very harmless-shoujo to me, and I'm a sucker for them. As for Chinese drama... um, they are my least favourite drama, there are some awesome actors but unfortunately the directors and the script writers tend to suck majorly. The join productions (between China-Taiwan-Hong Kong, or combination of) are usually much more entertaining).

Haha, rec me some Chinese historical dramas then? Right now I passing some time watching this weird drama based off an RPG, which I will post about once I've finished, but am only on like 9/34.

... That's hard, I honestly can't think og any Chinese historical drama. They are pretty much none-existent, I avoid all main-land Chinese productions of historical dramas (I get very bored watching them, and critisize their level of production none-stop. It gets quite vicious.)

The only Asian costume drama I watch is the WuXia genera, and very rarely will Taiwan/Hong Kong or China produce something new. It is all based on famous novels (Condor Heroes get a remake every 3 to 4 years. It is insane. It is like creativity is almost none-existent.)

That's weird. I was under the impression that Jin Yong wrote more than one novel? So why do they remake Condor Heroes over and over and over again?

It is my facourite and because of this is the default WuXia series that I measure all other WuXia series by XD. You are right though, he has written many a novel, and believe me there are usually mutiple remakes of every series he has ever written. It is just that Return of the Condor Hero seem to be the most popular. Personally I think it is because Andy Lau pretty much immortalised the role of Yang Guo. Several generations of Asian women are in love with his portrayal of Yang Guo, and Xiaolongnü was my role model when I was 5.

We all have to get over that problem sometime. :D There aren't many instances (nothing comes to mind) where I ever prefer the male lead over the Other Guy in romancey stories, whatever the country of origin of the series/book/movie. If only I were used to it by now!

Words of wisdom indeed. Most of the time I'm like you as well, however, this time around I really wanted the main lead to win the girl (this is extremly rare for me, I still remembering crying over Meteor Gardens because I so wanted Lei to win, so MUCH!)
