Dear f-list,

I love you all dearly, you guys provide me with hours of entertainment via fanfic (recs or written), reviews (oh, how I adore them) and generous uploads (of which I can't download because of my dial-up but that's my problem and it is the thought that counts.) However, lately there has been one small thing that has been making me sad:

Stop TEASING me about the GHEI LAWYERS! I am really, really, really JEALOUS! WHERE ARE THE SCREEN CAPS?! WHERE IS THE PROPER PIMPING? THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE GHEI LAWYERS? Where?

That is, please don't disappoint because you guys are like the bestest pimps in the world, and I’d really like to see the Ghei lawyers (links are also good). Or, you know, at least tell me if it'll ever get released in Australia *sighs*.

Much love,
naanima

I ♥ you guys, and I take back every single bad thing I ever said about any of you. Obviously, I am wrong in my HORRIBLE assumptions about the lack of pimpin' skills on my f-list. PLEASE forgive me!

MUCH, MUCH LOVE!

It is, apparently, a game called Phoenix Wright about lawyers that are apparently very ghei, but that's ALL I know. I want to know more because it is GHEI LAWYERS!!!!

It is indeed a hippie name. At first I thought it was a fantasy game till I realised the truth, at which point I cackled till I couldn't breathe. That's the thing, I don't know if it is in English or no! *cries*

i think i first heard about this title from [livejournal.com profile] sesame_seed (amsuchastalker*cough*) a long time ago, she may be able to say more about it? it does sound like something that deserves to be translated though!

Okay, Phoenix Wright is a translation of a game called Gyakuten Saiban (turnabout courtroom) in Japanese. In Japanese, there are three games so far for GBA, and one game for DS, which is an adaptation of the first game + an extra case. The DS game has been released and translated in the US as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. There probably are few screencaps because it's after all, a videogame and most of the graphics are rel. simple. Anyway, the best website I found on the thing is here:

Also, http://community.livejournal.com/igiari/ , but, I think it is my legal duty to warn you that it contains.... questionable content.

It's supposed to be for more adult comment, but it's all behind cuts, so it probably shouldn't be a problem.

also it has been released in Australia
It's hard to find, me and [livejournal.com profile] wredwrat kind of bought the last one from gametraders.

It doesn't matter though, because NDS games are not region locked, so you can play US version, and the best thing is the japanese versions are bilingual so you can play those too.

Game play information has been supplied by [livejournal.com profile] worldserpent, so I won't repeat, but I'll just say it is SUPER FUN, and full of gross character, and of course, faggotry.

However on checking, it hasn't actually been released in australia, just GT imports the US versions. Which have sold out. Hurrrr. orz

You have NDS? I don't! This means I will not be able to play it at all even if I can get one.

*CRIES*.

Objection! (http://sesame-seed.livejournal.com/2005/10/27/), she said.

I have the DS ROM (http://www.onioncornstalk.com/stuff/Phoenix%20Wright%20Ace%20Attorney%20(U).zip) up at the moment, though haven't yet found an emulator that plays it perfectly. It's my impression that it's v. difficult to get ahold of a hard copy outside the US and Japan; am currently in the process of acquiring mine by way of a friend in Canada. XD;

... I FAIL as a LAWYER! *CRIES* Somehow I'm kind of glad.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I just found out that I'll not be able to obtain a copy in Australia. This is disappointing, yet it validate my point about piracy being good! (The internet is cool too because it means I can attempt to get it shipped here.)
[identity profile] baka-neko.livejournal.com wrote:

You can get the Japanese version -- mine is the Jap version, with an English track. It's really just a point and click game, which is why screencapping is pointless - alot of backgrounds are re-used.

Mine was the second last copy. XD

I feel as if you are making fun of me. If we were related I'd disown you! But as it is I seethe in envy (can you actually seethe in envy?)

Money makes everything better~! No seriously, get the game however you can, by yahoo auctions or ebay. You can always wait for the price to drop further, or get a secondhand ds console.
