[livejournal.com profile] worldserpent, you probably have already read this but just in case you haven't, Why all Fanfic Writers are Creative Parasites *rolls eyes* See, this is why I don't even bother getting into arguments like this anymore. If people don't get the reason why fans write fanfic or draws fanart there's no point in explaining.

(Actually, is this the guy you were telling me about awhile back? Lee Goldberg?)

[EDIT: He thinks fans are creative parasites with no talent, I think he's a complete dick, but hey let's share the love.]

this is why I like the open gaming licence: "your work on our copyrighted stuff makes both of us money. Just make sure it's quality and indicate whats yours and ours." Saved alot of hassle for one lot of fandom.

could it be seen, therefore, that it is a fandom-based problem (us gamers get along quite well, when compared to serial-based fandom groups; including, trek, wars, buff+ang, etc, etc.... maybe because were based around rules....).

I don't like my S+E lecturer - he encourages the heckling of Chinese communism a bit too much for my tastes. That's why I'm gonna try and base my 2nd assignment around ENCOURAGING communism amongst children. Any imput?

instead of communism, how about focus on the 'communality' of it? since certain "primary" school children in Aust and among other countries have this "shared" education material thing going, why not play on that?

Create your own socialist soldiers!!! Groom them from youth, cull them from the herd... gather them to your flock!!!

What [livejournal.com profile] nekomancy said, diplomacy works better, promote community/teamwork/helping others (all the things that Marxisim theorises but fail at in practice. It is the thought that count.) And I think your S+E lecturer appear to be a bit of an arse, but that's probably just me.

Total agreement on the gaming, there just seem to be more of a together-ness with the gaming-dom than fandom in general.
