Bleach 179: Kubo Tite = Stealth Shoujo Mangaka.

I would just like to say I LOVE Kubo Tite! I am FOREVER glad that years ago I decided to read a little known manga called Zombie Powder written by a lesser known mangaka named Kubo Tite. Thus, starting my obsessive need to find everything (anything) that he had ever written. Anyways, enough babbling; onto the spoilers.

Byakuya was married at one point.

His wife had a sister, whom she abandoned.

Apparently, on her death bed, the wife asked Byakuya to find her sister and take care of her.

Three guesses at who the 'sister' is, and the first two doesn't count.

Rukia = SISTER-IN-LAW!!!!! OMFG! This explains more than it actually does. omfg!

I NEED the scans! NOW!

[EDIT: Spoilers from [livejournal.com profile] flowright. Actually, [livejournal.com profile] flowright has raised a few interesting points about the Shinigami captains. So, why were there so many open spots for the rank of Captain? I mean based on what has been revealed, half of the Shinigami Captains seem to be from the same generation (Gin, Byakuya, etc.) While a third of them were elected from the generation after Rukia had entered the Shinigami school. I keep on thinking it has something to do with why Urahara got banned from Soul Society (it is damn obvious he can't return,) and why Yoroichi seem to be kind of peeved with the whole Shinigami order (and working with Urahara). But yeah, read [livejournal.com profile] flowright's entry about it, she's much more coherent than me on this one.]

Yesh, did you read this (http://www.livejournal.com/users/petronia/319359.html?style=mine)? Now I am afraid that you have lost all respect for me. XD

mwahahahaBWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

But, jesus, this is Like The Old School Shoujo Romance Manga. I'm sooooooo happy. Sooooooo happy *giggls madly*

Oh darling, you know I respect you that much more when you start to show your shoujo roots ^_^

But you know, this does explain a lot about Byakuya's attitude towards Rukia (if we are going with the Shoujo Way of reasoning, and casr Byakuya as the Angsting Man who Lost his Beloved Wife.) Ohhh, soooooo happy. Now, if KuboTite begin with the Hollow/Aizen arc (everything seem to be related, somehow.)

XD Indeed, we've long speculated that Kubo Tite...isn't as interested in fighting as he could be (as in he could have dragged things out to Naruto lengths but he didn't).

Oh ho, well what didn't get mentioned was that I said that were this seinen we would have the creepy plot element where Byakuya indeed had a thing for the woman who resembled his dead wife, and is manfully repressing it, but this is shounen, so I doubt it.

Kubo Tite always seem to go for the fast-paced, cool-looking fights that can be wrapped up within one episode. (So unlike 'Naruto,' thank the gods that have mercy on my anime-watching).

But, but, but after this issue, I'm kind of going with the 'having a thing for woman who resembles dead wife,' it makes sense to me. I'm no longer using the 'it can't happen, it is shounen' argument anymore. Kubo Tite have turned my world upside down on several occassions now (no assumptions are safe anymore.) So, I'm going to sit back and enjoy the show, and wait for Byakuya to make his confession about having a thing for women who looks like his wife *koffs*

(I wonder if Kubo Tite read shoujo.)

Yes yes. Although in some cases he practically *skipped* fights, and stopped them before they could end. (still irritated we didn't see more of the Yumachika fight)

XD I think we'll see who is right. But then, in that case it would also be incestuous (since Rukia is his adopted sister).

Nothing about Kubo Tite would surprise me, although I also suspect some of the "romantic" shounen was part of his reading.

And I keep on wondering if those fight will be prolonged in the anime. It would be kind of cool. (Me TOO! I wanted to see MORE of that fihgt. So, cool.)

Well, it won't true incest, 'cos you know, not related by blood ('Marmalade Boy' used that one as an excuse *koffs*)

Romantic Shounen... I'm trying to think of some, and none seem to come to mind.

And I had some fun on [livejournal.com profile] petronia's lj. Dear Kubo Tite (http://www.livejournal.com/users/petronia/319359.html?view=2046847#t2046847).

Oh dear, now we shall spread more rumors throught the fandom. XD Well, if those memes spread, you can look forward to more cries of horror from fanfic readers.

...Well, I haven't seen adopted sibling incest in shounen jump yet.

You know, like Kimagure Orange Road, etc.

I'm just hoping that all of the characters get to fight more. There is a serious antagonist/protagonist ratio problem.

SPREAD! SPREAD Like the FREE FUNGI! SPREAD! *koffs* But it would fun. I'd read them (it isn't as if I have never bad published literature.)

...True. Very True. Just mother/sister Complexes so large that can swallow half of the continent.

Of course. I Adore Kimagure Orange Road. I need to re-watch that someday.

Yes, fights. I need a solid villain. And oh, all the different techniques, and the huge power levels.... *dreamy smile*

I mean, there's *three* people on Aizen's side. He has all the Hollows, but they're not very interesting characters.

... Maybe, there will be another Shinigami-shaped rabbit soon? *hopeful look* I have hope. I have hope. That, or Aizen will become really interesting soon.
